Official Visits Will See Celebration

With the National Championshiop celebration set for Saturday in the Swamp, the Gators football team will be doing more than just looking back at the successes of the 2006 season:  They will be doing a little recruiting as well.

On Saturday the football program will be having 3 official visits from extremely talented recruits, all having Florida high on their list of schools they are interested in committing to: Deonte Thompson, Major Wright and Chris Culliver.

A 4-star recruit and the #4 ranked wide receiver prospect in the country, Deonte Thompson can only be described in one word:  fast.  On his Scout.com profile it is listed that he ran 3 straight 4.28 40s at a combine last April.  His decision is more than likely going to come down to the Gators, USC and Ohio State.

Major Wright, a 4-star safety out of St. Thomas Aquinas HS, can "hit like a truck" according to Scout.com - showing that he could fit right in after the supposed loss of Reggie Nelson to the NFL. He is being pursued by the Irish, Buckeyes, Trojans and the Gators.

Culliver is also a 4-star rated safety out of North Carolina who will be deciding between the Gators and Spurrier's Gamecocks.  Known for his speed, Culliver 127 tackles, 7 sacks and 2 interceptions a year ago.

Let's hope these guys will strengthen an already strong recruiting class at Florida.
