DL Sidell Corley has de-committed from the University of Florida, choosing to decide between the University of Alabama and LSU. Corley is currently listed as a 4-star defensive lineman by Scout.com.
On a day when the Gators got a commitment from Justin Trattou, a 5-star DL who switched from Notre Dame, the Gators lost Corley. In a way we all kind of knew that this was going to occur throughout the recruiting period - and I think Urban Meyer knew it as well. That is why I believe he pursued Trattou, Carlos Dunlap, Everson Griffen (outside, very slim shot) and John Brown the way he has.
You win some, you lose some, and the events of today solidified that fact. I don't look down upon Corley for de-committing, as I think he knows the Gators are looking to move on if he wasn't solid on his verbal. Really, this came at a pretty good time for both parties.
Now, a good bounce back for the Gators would be to get commits from Major Wright, Terence Toliver, Deonte Thompson and Ahmad Paige.
