Petrino to Atlanta

ESPN.com is reporting that Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino will be headed to Atlanta to coach the Falcons:

Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich confirmed to ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Petrino told him about 8:30 p.m. ET that he had accepted the job and that Rich McKay, the Falcons' president and general manager, had called this afternoon to tell Jurich about the offer.

The Falcons offer was for 5 years, $24 million.

Petrino had just signed a 10 year contract to coach Louisville prior to this season, declaring that he was going to be the Cardinals head coach for quite some time.  Tough break for Louisville, just coming off an Orange Bowl win, who will now have to search for a new head coach.
