Urban Meyer as Steve Spurrier

Florida Gators defeat Georgia Bulldogs 49-10.

We have witnessed one of the great "Fuck You" moments in sports; Urban Meyer calling timeouts in the final minute of a 49-10 victory over a rival who had smeared you a year before. Well played, Urban. And well fucking played Timmy Tebow. Less than 200 yards of total offense and 5 TDs? An efficient ass kicking. It was a game of a different era; a throwback to the 1990's ass kickings Florida would deliver in the Bold New City of The South. And it was fun.

Please

I would ask that you guys calm down with the “FU” calls as being great. Granted, what happened last year was fairly classless, but what Spurrier did for like 8 of the 12 years he was here was classless (see throwing the ball in Athens to ensure a 50 pt victory). Anyways, you guys have a hell of a team and I don’t think anyone in the country is playing as well other than maybe Texas. This one hurts as a Georgia fan, but Urban should have pulled out Tebow earlier IMO. This game was decided halfway through the 3rd and he just wanted to rub it in.

Nothing personal...

…I think Urban sees it as even now. He has the personality of a tank, but he’s a proud man and he wasn’t going to let last year go unanswered. Frankly, I wish the team that played UGA and LSU played Ole Miss.

Way to curse Texas.

Down 19-3 to Tech as I type this.

Clutch: A measurement of how much better or worse a player does in high leverage situations than he would have done in a context neutral environment. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/glossary/

Hence the "FU" calls.

Comparing him to Spurrier kinda killed your point.

Also

I don’t see Florida losing again this year. They will be right in the mix for a MNC if they can take care of business against Bama in the SEC game.

If we run the table and beat Alabama, I would be shocked if we didnt get in.

Even if Penn St goes unbeaten, we should jump them. Who knows about USC and Texas Tech probably wont last (their defense is HORRIBLE). Oklahomo and Alabama are the big ones in our way. Obviously, beating Alabama would leap us over them in a probable faceoff with Oklahomo.

USC is a wild card. Texas is a wild card (I know Tech has a great offense, but wow their defense looked slow and just plain awful). For Utah, see Penn State. I dont think OK St will get in the way.

I truly believe we are the best team in the country right now, as we are clicking on all cylinders (attributed to them finally using the entire offensive vesatility without running with Tebow on every play [i expected us to be this good once the offense gets used right]). Even scarier—-we are healthy.

Why Oklahomo?

If the Big 12 starts having a really screwy series of games that makes it so that their is no clear best team, that might help.

I'm vocal.

I don’t like gay people, but I have nothing against Oklahoma (other than the Sonics’ Thunder’s road unis). I don’t want to insult people for no reason. And yes, I know, no political shit on the blogs, I’m sorry.

I dont have too much of a problem with the timeouts at the end.

Normally, I would hate it…but that game was pretty dirty (lots of scuffles), Georgia is a huge enemy…and well, the fans were being classless.

Same thing for Rainey’s whatever the fuck on the kickoff return at the end.

The way they jawed at each other, I would think Georgia would do the same, at least the latter.

He was imitating one of the best returnmen ever...

I'm a Bears fan, so I was happy to see the shout-out.

Rex is back! Yay!

I would have preferred

that we just line up in victory formation and run out the clock like it wasn’t anything special.

I often think that Urban leaves Tebow in much too long but not in this game. He deserved to go back in for that last play, hand it off, and then exit ceremoniously to get a well-deserved round of applause.

finally, I am ready to move past this great win and concentrate on Vandy – a team that has given the Gators more than enough close calls over the years. Hopefully the players will be focused on Vandy only. All us armchair QBs can become UGA & Alabama fans to help out ranking and SOS ratings. BTW, the FSU loss hurts us – I would have loved for them to have been 10-1 when we face them.
