FSU fans just checked the schedule!

Well, aparently our counterparts at Tomahawk Nation are still a little hung up on their big victory up in Maryland last week, as that remains the lead story. But....if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the site, you will find this thread:

http://www.tomahawknation.com/2008/11/24/669582/recipe-for-beating-the-gat

Finally, someone on the site noticed that this is the week of the Florida/Florida State game. Of course technical difficulties has put their fanposts at the bottom of the site....never said they were technologically advanced.

They have at least listed some keys to the game, like score TDs first, win turnover margin, win in the trenches, win the special teams battle, win the lottery, etc. Yet, they still don't seem confident that if they accomplish them all - they will pull the upset.

I also noticed something at the top of the TN site. It says "Tomahawk Nation - where we as "Is this Helping Florida State win a National Championship?"

Wow.

Please be kind and use good grammar.

Their website headline...

is like a LOLCATS headline. I CAN HAZ CHAMPINCHIP? I like how one of the fan posts is about playoffs with FSU winning the ACC. Winning the ACC this year is like a backhanded compliment; the best of the crappiest conference. Doesn’t the ACC winner play the Big East in the Orange Bowl too? Will Fox end up showing that game on FX Network with “Always Sunny in Philadelphia” to follow?

Most of the conference ratings hold

the ACC in high esteem. For all the talk about the great defenses in the SEC, the ACC has produced more NFL defenders in the last 5 years. Don’t let that get in your way.

The mere fact of possessing pro talent means relatively little – there was a UNC team a few years back that was thoroughly mediocre and had half its defensive starters go in the next draft. The quality of the rest of the team and the coaching staff matter a great deal when it comes to corporate success.

Thanks, Mr. Truism.

I’m simply pointing out that ACC defenses are usually quite good.

You’re welcome, old chap, always happy to help out. (And I’m simply pointing out that your premise and conclusion aren’t necessarily related.)

There "Keys to the Game"...

Might as well go all-out Madden and say “if FSU hopes to win this game, they have to score more points than the Gators”! Honestly, if they have any hope of even keeping this close, they have to hope for a big win in the turnover battle…

I am a Seminole who frequents TN.

First of all their headline refers to our coaching staff (Andrews and Amato) which is being heavily criticized by many there, including the guy who runs it.
Second of all, the guy is sick and has been slow on his posts this week.
Third of all, read the post that you are ripping. One, I think you computer is malfunctioning, but it’s typical of a Gator to blame something other than themselves. The fanposts are on the right hand side, just like yours. Two, nobody over there thinks we are a national powerhouse. It’s not like we have this false image of ourselves. However, who really expects you guys to be objective and honest. Most of us aren’t confident that we will beat you. You have the better team. We simply are confused about which of our offensive and defensive lines show up. If they play like they are capable of, we will keep it competitive and have a chance at winning. We ARE grabbing right now. At least we can look at it objectively.

Back to Jacksonville please.

You ARE confused dude

I thought UNF was the Ospreys? Did you graduate UNF and think it was FSU? Well look at the bright side – at least you got a better education!

Seriously, lighten up Francis. We are just having a little fun – you can’t take blogs too seriously.

Also, the TN site was screwed up earlier today – the fanposts were all the way at the bottom and the right column was totally blank, sort of like Coach Bobby’s copy of the playbook.

Well

If you are just having a little ‘fun’ at least make it humorous. “…Like Coach Bobby’s copy of the playbook,” that doesn’t even make sense.

by UNFNOLE on Nov 26, 2008 10:49 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Does it not make sense because Bowden doesn’t even have a playbook anymore?
Seriously dude, you walked right into that joke.

No jokes are funny

When they have to be explained to you.

You see, everyone outside of Tallahassee jokes that Coach Bowden hasn’t really coached the team in years. So, instead of him getting a regular playbook, they just give him a book full of blank pages.

That is funny, no?
