Florida vs. Washington Preview

It will be an evening with Mick Hubert (unless you have ESPNU at 7:45pm) as the Gators (3-1) face the Washington Huskies (2-2) in the consolation game of the CBE Classic in Kansas City. The Gators lost last night in part because they couldn't play defense. Syracuse shot better than 50%, which is what they've done all year, but UF could not match.

The Huskies present a less explosive offensive, but have size inside which UF struggled with last night. If UF can win, and split the series, that will be fine. Lose and you can start asking questions about the team's skill level.

Defensive presence inside is a concern

Cheney looked good again, Tyus has potential and Calathes is still a stud.

We need the big guys to play better or we’ll be in the NIT again this year, but I think they will and we’ll be able to compete in the SEC/NCAAs. Tons of talent on the team.

I could be wrong though

I still don't get why Lucas left.

He wanted to play point guard, but Calathes is way better.

Also, as the point Calathes can contribute without scoring. That was his problem last season. When he wasn’t scoring, he wasn’t helping because Lucas would start the offense occasionally.
