Alligator Army Awards: The Albie for Biggest Surprise

For Biggest Surprise, anything and everything could be included in this category.

Ahmad Black, Safety: Six interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns, and a blocked kicked made Black a force to be reckoned with in the Gator secondary. As a sophomore, Black has at least another season terrorizing opponents.

Janoris Jenkins, Cornerback: Named to the SEC All-Freshman team, Jenkins had 34 tackles and three interceptions.

Florida Softball: With only one senior, the Gators finished 70-5, the best season in their history. UF was led by pitcher Stacey Nelson, who was 47-5. This was only the third season for head coach Tim Walton.

Florida Basketball Reaching The NIT: "They're not committed to it," might be the defining quote for Gator basketball in the way that, "The Gator Boys are hot," was for the Championship Era. Some people took away from last season that the Gators finished strong by losing in the NIT Semifinals. Others say that wasn't the case as the Gators hit cruise control for the entire season and crashed in the SECs. It will take a deep run this season to erase the stain of 2008 and reclaim some Gator Glory.
