UF's Newest Best Friend - Lane Kiffin?!!?
By now, you have probably heard the news of the arrest of 3 Tennessee players for attempted armed robbery up in Knoxville early this morning. One of the three players was none other than former Pahokee standout/Benedict Arnold impersonator/subject of Kiffin grand larceny/source of banishment of UT coaches from Pahokee Highs campus/subject of Kiffin's public reprimand from Mike Slive/recent UT problem child - Nu'Keese Richardson. That's a hell of a resume for a kid who hasn't even finished his freshman year of college.
I think Coach Meyer ought to send a personal thank-you letter to Lane Kiffin. If not for Kiffin stealing this prized recruit away from Florida in the 11th hour, he would be wearing orange and blue. Let's all pause for a second and be thankful that we don't have to deal with the distractions this kid brings in the midst of this already somewhat tumultuous, yet special season. I can handle the penalty and conspiracy accusations. I can handle offensive backpedaling. I can even handle the eye gouging outrage. But attempted armed robbery at gunpoint is not something we can deal with this season with so much at stake (or ever for that matter)!
There's no doubt the reason Richardson changed his commitment to UT is that Kiffin promised him immediate playing time as a freshman - something Meyer (thankfully) doesn't do. It's not fair to the team, the player or the program. Apparently after being given playing time, Richarson was eventually beat out and has been watching from the sidelines. He talked about (or at least others have claimed) a transfer to another school. He was also facing discipline with Kiffin for either missing a practice or violating a team rule when he decided to hold up a few kids at a Pilot station in the middle of the night on a Wednesday.
The rest of the SEC will smirk as they wait to see how the boy wonder handles this situation with the media. The jokes will fly (I've already heard one talk show host suggest "1/2 game suspension, because that's what Urban would do"). I think up until this point Kiffin has done a pretty good job at UT. Many point to the defense and say it's because of Monte. But the defense at UT was already stellar and the offense has improved by leaps and bounds this season. I'll be interested to see how he handles the media attacks as well, but just remember that it could easily be Meyer behind those microphones addressing this mess.
Go Gators. Beat the 'Cocks.
Please be kind and use good grammar.

How can "lil kif" teach his recruits to be liars
and not expect to get this kind of behavior. sometimes in life you get what you pay for, but lil nuke is the gift that just keeps on giving. unbelievable, i guess when LK’s relationships with recruits start out with LK training his recruits to be liars. we should have expected his next level of training to be armed robbery. thanks “lil kif” for recognizing the exceptionally talented "nuke-lhead’s inner man, and training him in the ways of lying, deceit, and now armed robbery. GOOD JOB lil kif, GATOR NATION expected no less from you and your highly tauted recruits.
I like what Demarco Cobbs said when he de-committed from Tennessee earlier this year to commit to Texas. He said “I had to tell tell Tenn coaches that I changed my commitment to Texas. It wasn’t easy, but I had to be a man”. Here’s to the Demarco Cobbs of this world and the coaches who are fortunate enough to be associated with them. GO GATORS

How so easily you forget about Ronnie Wilson and his AK-47.

Urban Meyer’s tenure: 30 arrests and 9 felonies. get off your high horse.

Wilson committed a gun crime. He did not attempt armed robbery. It seems like semantics, but in Florida, gun play is seen as totally different from using a gun to commit a crime. Had Wilson used the gun to commit a crime, he would have gotten 10 years in prison. Firing it in the air like an Iraqi celebrating the fall of Saddam? You get probation. No one said Florida’s gun laws were fair or made any sense, but that is how they are.
If Tennessee has mandatory sentencing guidelines like Florida, Richardson and crew are screwed. As much fun as it is to poke fun at the Vols, you should never want to see a 18 year old kid go to jail for 10 years.

Yea
this is terrible news, I think Ronnie Wilson was stupid as hell to fire a ak-47 period, but to rob soemone with a gun, thats just a thug.
So, many people might find this article picking on Lane Kiffin, but I know what hes saying, if it wasnt for Kiffine taking this guy away from our school with his “great recruiting” we would had to hear about this guy, and how we only recruit thugs.
Looks like it happens to anyschool.

wow throw...
I didn’t know Ronnie Wilson played for the Gators this season…..my point was that we have had plenty of distractions already this season and something like this would derail the hopes of a perfect season and a possible national title. I was pointing out what looked like a disappointing event (Kiffin stealing our recruit) turned out to be good news for the Gators.
Apparently Hook scored a little higher on the reading comprehension portion of the SAT than you did…..

It could have happened....
It could have happened anywhere but it did not sir. It happened on Lane Kiffin’s front porch. Leather Lip Lane has talked enough trash that this seems like a little poetic justice. There is a new store in Knoxville that sells candy and pistols, it’s called Nu’keese’s Pieces… the new UT newsletter.. Kiffs and Kuffs.
I’m sorry, I’ll go to bed now

the only thing Kiff did wrong in this instance....
was jinx himself by bragging as late as Wednesday afternoon to the media that his team had not been subject to a single arrest since he took over.
youch.
Not sure if yall caught the article (linked here from Team Speed Kills in the 11:10 update at teh bottom) where one of the players arrested (Janzen Jackson) had just come off suspension for “an internal problem.” The headline actually reads “Jackson Learns From Mistake.”
Wow.

lil kif will probably kick lil nuke off the team and come out looking like a great disciplinarian
but the rest of the story is as follows: nuke skipped sunday practice after the bama game cause of lack of playing time, at that time lil kif should have suspended him or gave him his walking papers but instead he rewarded nuke vs memphis by allowing him to play the entire game and tried to get him as many touches as possible. jaszen jackson was suspende by lil kif for “drug violations” and when the police arrested them they had a bag of pot and other pariphenalia in their posession. of course, UT’s spin on the situation is that j. jackson was only an innocent bystander (of course he is the only one of the three that is a starter) and of course they are pinning the drugs on the girl driver. if lil kif would have done the right thing and suspended lil nuke for his skipping practice instead of sucking up to him in fear that he might quit, UT’s arrest record would probably still be clean under lil kif’s leadership. i say again, when you start a relationship teaching a young man that it is ok to lie and deceive, what can you say when he does the same to you? nothing!!!!

I knew something like this would happen
and kiffin is also the cause of the bad ref messups he’s just the worst influence you can find in college football he’s the sherman (the murdurer that burned Atlanta and killed thousands of innocent southern people) of coaching from California and he’s not a good disciplinarian he needs to be fired and a real coach be hired like Lee Corso if he ever wants to come back to coaching
