Gator Basketball vs. Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern Eagles at Florida Gators, Nov 18, 2009 7:00 PM EST
Game two for the Gators (1-0) is tonight against Georgia Southern (1-1), who played UF hard last season, losing to the Gators 88-81. Last time out against Stetson, the storyline was how awful the Gators were from three-point range; 1 of 13. UF's two most efficient and active players were Vernon Macklin and Alex Tyus. Macklin has not played in a year, but his getting his legs under him with a 13 point, 8 rebound night that included three blocks Sunday. Tyus, who will benefit from having Macklin take most of the blows, had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Tonight, watch out to see if UF will keep chucking threes and how the ball is worked inside to Macklin and Tyus. Guards Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker can score, but they will also be judged on how they move the ball.
