My stay at the Omni Hotel...

Saturday night was a shocking night for us Gator fans. I saw the breaking news of Meyer watching a bowl game at my sisters house. My brother in-law is a Penn St. alum, who also thinks he is the best college football fan and everyone else has no idea. I tried to throw some reasoning behind Urban's extremely early retirement to my brother in-law. I said, "he did go to the hospital once for chest pains", he said "no he went for dehydration", I laughed it off and moved on. He then begins explaining to my wife and I how we don't understand how hard a football coach works. By then I had enough, and I cut him off. Finaly after I am done screaming, and I think I have gotten my point across, all he has to say is "jeez you are really pissed about Meyer retiring." This was the beginning of a long night.

So the next morning I am traveling back home. Needing a little R&R my wife and I decided to stop half way in Jacksonville for a beautiful nights stay at the Omni Hotel. Before we even get to the temporary parking, I see banners and signs and buses, all with the FSU emblem. I am thinking, "Isnt this Gator country." So when I go to check in, my worst night mare was true, the FSU football team was staying at the Omni for their New Years day bowl game. Every employee was decked out in FSU T-shirts, FSU flags, FSU everything every where! That night I realized how much of a Gator fan I am. I was miserable. I felt sick to my stomach. I wanted to change hotels but it was too late to cancel my reservation. I felt like I was behind enemy lines. I got through the night with Blue Moon, and the hope of Urban Meyer returning. My friends think I was over reacting...would the rest of you felt the same way?
