Chances of OVER-looking Cincy?
....Florida now how has to face ANOTHER huge challenge...not facing last year's Bama syndrome. Utah was overlooked, under looked, and Overrated. Then they sent the tide rolling back to Tuscaloosa SHOCKED. Cincy may have their last chance to work under Brian Kelly and if that's not motivation enough most people question the Big East and its toughness. Can Florida show up with a chip on their shoulder? Or will we see a Repeat lackluster performance. There's no apology, no speech, no second chance. We need this win. Opinions? Can we handle the Cincy spread? What Florida & Tebow will we see? Will the D have Dunlap or can they avoid the distractions and come up big?
Please be kind and use good grammar.

Brian Kelly voted Cincinnati #1 and Florida #7
Think Urban Meyer has some nice bulletin board material now.

Yea I am pumped already. thanks for the link.
That really pisses me off. This is a Big East school, come on now! We will run it down thier throats!!! We will get 300 yards on the ground. Thier high flying offense will fall asleep on the side line watching Tebow and company pound the ball down thier throats all game long.
Does anyone really think that Cinci’s defense will be able to stop our rushing attack? This isnt Bama’s defense were talking about. This isnt even Tenn D.

This is a bellwether moment
for the program. Can we bounce back from the most gut-wrenching loss in years?
I think he’ll have the guys ready to go, but Cincinnati will be a tough opponent for us. Without doing too much research, I like us to win by about 10 or so. If Strong is gone by then, they may score some points on us.
cincy
Can UF handle cincy’s spread? Yes UF’s defense was torn to shreads by Bama, but you can bet that UF’s defense doesn’t want that as their final memory of the season and will come out and want to dominate. Cincy’s spread is more of a pass happy offense when Pike plays(he is starting Kelly already said so) when that back up plays then you have to worry because then thye run and pass, with pike they never run. Also cincy has like no defense period so UF’s offense shouldn’t have to much problems there. I see UF coming in not wanting another embarrassment and loss, im predicting UF 41, cincy 14 once again we see the SEC is stronger
Cincy has no defense
We do. Thats why we win.

Brian Kelly will NOT coach in the Sugar Bowl
Kelly got a five-year deal from Notre Dame and will be introduced as coach in South Bend on Friday afternoon. He declined to comment in Cincinnati, where he informed his players of the move after their football banquet Thursday night. He won’t coach them in the Sugar Bowl.
The Cincinnati players seem surprised and are upset that Kelly is leaving. I wonder how that affects their mentality as they prepare for the Sugar Bowl.
That sure does show a lot about how much you care about your players
Take a lesson from Strong who is committed to this team. Even after he leaves I BET he will still be close to a lot of Gator players and coaches. Unlike Kelly.

Comparing apples and oranges
Comparing Strong and Kelly is not fair at all since one is moving from a DC position to a head coach. How could anyone at Florida blame Strong for leaving for a head coaching job? If Strong left to be DC at Notre Dame, would his players stil be close with him?!
Granted, the Cincy players should not be angered that their coach left for a similar job at a much higher profile school, but they feel betrayed that he just left them after an undefeated season to coach somewhere else. They feel used as a stepping stone – but that is what they are. They ran the table and were still not invited to play for a title. That’s just the breaks of college football.
Unfortunately for us, I think their anger toward Kelly will motivate them to play harder to prove that “they can win without Kelly” and that the talent lies in the team, not the coach. It concerns me to say the least.
I am also a little concerned that Strong will still be coaching us in the Sugar. I am hopeful that we wants to make amends for his horrendous job in the SECCG, but I can’t help but think that he’ll have most of his efforts focused on recruiting future Cardinals. We saw how well he performs when he’s not 100% focused.
I dont understand?
Strong is moving from DC to Head Coach. Kelly is going to the highest prestige school in the country.
Kelly is leaving his players early when they need him most, since they still have the biggest game of thier season left.
Strong is staying, when he has nothing left to prove. All he is staying for is pride, and a commitment to his players. Thus he will stay close to his players, as Kellys players will and should disown him as thier coach.

So.....
If Strong had announced that he was not going to coach in the Sugar Bowl, then your opinion of him would be 180 degrees different and you would feel that he betrayed us?
Kelly will not have nearly as long to rebuild Notre Dame as Strong will to build a program at Louisville. Kelly needed to hit the ground sprinting as far as recruiting is concerned. He simply doesn’t have the luxury of postponing his recruiting efforts for another month. He needs to go find some guys who can run his system….and fast.
yea i see your point
but yea, it would of put a dent in my opinion in Strong. As I am sure it would a lot of fans. Strong could of left, and it would not have the impact like Kelly leaving. Were talking about the coach who won coach of the year…who could have a strong arguement that his team was the best if they beat Florida. Utah was actually recognized by the AP last year as the NC winner. So theres a little more implications then Strong has. Also its pretty clear he wants to get a head start on recruiting at ND, wich to me implies he cares more about his job at ND then this football team.

some would say
That Charlie’s head wasn’t 100% into the SEC Game….so is that better?
I can guarantee that his head won’t be 100% into the Sugar Bowl. He’ll be thinking of what assistants he wants to hire and which recruits he needs to be contacting.
How are defense looked that game
You could be right. You win this round. But I still think it was messed up for Brian Kelly to leave his team.

Interesting follow up on Kelly
In this article on Rivals they report that Kelly claims he would have stayed at Cincy to coach the team if they were playing in the national title game. He goes on to state that Notre Dame may not (I think probably not) have waited that long for his response since he wouldn’t have accepted until after the game.
That is interesting. I wonder if his players would have been mad if he won a national title and then bolted? Or if he lost a national title game and then bolted….
I don't know how they WOULD have felt
but hearing this has GOT to piss them off that much more. He really doesn’t need to be saying any more on this – I think he’s just making it worse.

"Every job that I’ve taken is because I want to play for a championship. When you have the opportunity to play for a national championship, I’m going to be on that sideline," he said.
I think that undermines his leaving Cincy during a historic season. He’s got the program doing very well – obviously they lose players to graduation or the draft, but they could be right back in the title hunt quickly.
Notre Dame, on the other hand …
(I wonder how many, if any, academic exceptions they gave him.)
NOT ONLY do they lose Kelly...
http://www.vindy.com/news/2009/dec/21/buffalo8217s-new-coach-from-cincy/?newswatch
Jeff Quin took the Buffalo job. But looks like theyll be having an interm interms coach…meaning hopefully these guys can handle coaching themselves, because at this point they MUST be afraid of hiring anyone else.. so basically mardy gilyard and some interns will run the show haha
That is strange....
coaching one team as interim, knowing you are going to coach another after the game….
