Who Are the Gator's Top SEC Football Rivals?

I'm preparing a thread over at sister SB Blog Track 'Em Tigers to determine who every team in the SEC ranks as their three biggest rivals and compare the cross-over. I'd like to know who Gator fans feel are their top three conference rivals, either current or past. Please help me out and vote in this poll and I'll compile all the results into a thread next week.

Thanks!

Greg

Alabama...

really?

When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.

yeah but to consider us a rival

we gotta play every year…

aren't we talkn about

conference rivals here? And also each teams 3 biggest rivals? Sure Bama and UF have a “rivalry” but not on the same level as you have with UT, UGA and evidently now LSU.

LSU is more of a respectful rivalry.

On our end anyway. Not sure how distributing the other team’s quarterback’s number is respectful, unless they all wanted to congratulate him on the Heisman later in the year.

Just because you think a school is filled with jackasses, doesn’t make them a rival. The only time people in Gainesville think about Miami is baseball season or recruiting. Besides, this survey was SEC teams only.

It's got to be LSU

We don’t even play Alabama and Auburn every year.
Kentucky hasn’t beat us in a long time and USC has only beaten us once in a long time.

LSU is, at least currently, our 3rd biggest conference rival.

I'm with LSU too

Maybe the older alumni will pick Aubie. Record wise, UF is 38-42-2 against Auburn and 29-23-3 vs. LSU. If I’m not mistaken, Auburn was a yearly rival for UF until realignment. As for Bama, Florida has only played them 34 times (14-20).
However, of the teams listed, I don’t Hate any of them. Auburn is mildly annoying and I don’t really have anything against Bama. If I lived outside the SEC, I would probably pick Florida and LSU to root for since they have the most exciting teams.

Auburn-Florida

Was a yearly rivalry, and when the conference realignment came, we chose you over keeping the annual series with the Vols. Then when they moved to a two-rotator from the opposite division, we were forced to choose Georgia as our lone permanent east game. It stinks, and Auburn really should be in the east, but that would cause an imbalance.

If Florida never had to play Auburn again, I think I would be OK with that.

As far as the glory years of Florida football

being 1990 to the present – we have had as much difficulty with Auburn as any team in the nation. I like the Auburn games though – they are usually exciting and traveling to Jordan Hare and tailgating at the library and the amphitheatre is a blast.

I agree...

…as I have been pelted with cups at FF in 1986 in Kerwin Bell’s wake and seen Seinfeld during Gator Growl in ’88.

The best Auburn game ever in my career? 1994 at Florida. Best I’ve seen live? 1993 Florida at Auburn.

Okay, we need more votes. I might need to hire ACORN to drive folks to the polls!

And...

you guys would supplant LSU on our list, too, if we still had the annual series…

by War Eagle Atlanta on Feb 14, 2009 2:58 PM EST up reply actions

I voted LSU...

Simply because we had to play them every year, but Auburn is the team that is the most heated rival of the two. Both are geat programs that have won national championships or gone undefeated in the last ten years, but historically Auburn always has exposed us when we’ve had good & even great teams. In the Spurrier era, the loss usually came mainly from the Plains.

Bit late there.

Unless you’re announcing the results of the poll. We need some new FanPosts.
