Cornelius Ingram To Philadelphia

One of my favorite Gators of all time is heading for a team I hate. TE Cornelius Ingram was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 153rd pick in the draft. Ingram would be a perfect fit for the Eagles, where Ingram could blossom in the West Coast offense used by Donovan McNabb and coach Andy Reid. Not just that, Ingram will be part of a group of targets that includes Mizzou's Jeremy Maclin (Philly's first pick), and speedster DeSean Jackson. Ingram could be used in the same manner as at Florida, where elite outside guys allowed CI space to work inside and find mismatches. Going to an established team may hurt in that he won't get to play much, but remember CI is still a raw guy. A year with minimal action could pay off later.

Good Call

First of all — why do you hate the Birds? You better not be a Cowgirls fan or my days of reading this amazing blog are done (kidding).

CI will be a solid pro — and I agree that he might even be better than Harvin. But, that’s saying an awful lot.

CI tore up highly regarded LB James Laurinaitis in the first title game (I love saying that ) and showed his ability to be a fantastic 3rd down guy in 2007.

The Iggs will require a lot out of him — especially in the blocking department. This is the most difficult aspect to pick up as the guys that play on Sundays are bigger/faster/stronger etc. He’ll do well, I hope, and break the Kearse in Philly that has the town hating Gators (Lito, Jevon).

Solid pick and I’m stoked to see how well he plays. Can’t wait to pick up my CI jersey in midnight green.

As a New York Native and Tampa resident, it is in my blood to hate Philly. Not Rocky or the town, just the Eagles (because of Bucs in playoffs), Flyers (Rangers rivals, Lightning in playoffs) and Phillies (Rays in World Series, but I enjoy Jimmy Rollins).

Umm... why do y'all hate Lito?

It seems like every season he had a 100+ yard pick 6.

Good

OK — good to know the genius of your Eagle hatred — and it is totally acceptable — I hated the Bucs in the ’90s. Becasue they were so good and killed us in nearly every NFC title game we made it to.

As far as Lito goes — I love the guy — but in the Igg’s D you have to be able to tackle and cover — which he seemed to do for only one year (the Super Bowl Year) and never decided to do again — strange. I wish him all the best in NY.

Lito

You also have to stay relatively healthy… That was always my main gripe with Lito. He was a pro bowl talent, but was constantly injured…. I’m rooting for him to do well in New York because it could net an extra 2nd round pick for Philly, but I’ll believe that he’s capable of playing 16 games again when I see it.

CI

After speaking to some Philly guys — they are totally pumped about landing CI. They love his talent — his work ethic and his character (switched from QB to TE after Jesus showed up). While they haven’t come out and said it — they are really focusing on his basketball experience as well (Gates, Gonzalez). While they don’t " expect" a lot from him — they are giddy about landing him so late in the draft and his upside. Also — nary a word about his knee, too — which is also great. I liked CI more than Troupe — and that’s saying a lot.
