Tebow At The Senior Bowl Day 4: Better
Even Todd McShay will admit that Tim Tebow performed better today than in previous Senior Bowl practices. The long ball again was his best point, but Tebow was streaky. After performing very well in 11-on-11 drills, Tebow threw poorly in 7-on-7s, specifically short routes. Tebow has been making an effort to shorten his motion and work on his foot work, but he will only have a few chances to impress scouts en masse; Gator Pro Day and the NFL Combine. This hasn't been a lost week and he could still do very well on Saturday.
In contrast, Riley Cooper continues to impress. Like Bubba Caldwell, Percy Harvin and Lou Murphy, Cooper has shown that he is not a system wide receiver. Running routes and playing physical, Cooper is working his way into the big money.

at least he's progressing
For every woman masturbating right now, there is a guy masturbating while imagining that woman masturbate.

it doesn't matter how much he practices
scouts are still gonna shoot him down because they’re pac-10 idiots and they hate the SEC
Agreed.
Scouts are too arrogant to change their opinion even when theyre proven wrong. (Matt Leinhart of example). Im glad to see him progress tho he deserves a good week more than any of the QBs there. Before long hes going to be an NFL robot doing everything almost fundamentally perfect hes going to be fine.

Come on now.. you can't be serious? You sound ridiculous
They hate the SEC? Really? Matthew Stafford ring a bell? I realize Georgia blows, but last I checked they are still a member of the conference. JaMarcus Russell comes to mind for a guy who has failed far worse than Leinert btw and he was picked number one over all.
Two out of the last three years, the first QB (and pick overall) was from the SEC. And in 2008, I’d say they made the right choice with Flacco and Ryan ahead of SEC QB’s.
No scout can afford to have a conference bias, these are multi-million dollar decisions. Joe Flacco didn’t even play D1a ball and he got drafted in the first round. These guys could give a damn what conference you play in.
Who are these SEC QB’s that were not given a chance over pac-10 Qbs?
And what kind of statement is.. he deserves a good week more than any of those QB’s there? How do you know that? What makes him more deserving, are these other guys criminals? I imagine they have less long-term options than Tebow, they probably need a good week a lot more than he does.

Get off my wood.
Guess im just being a homer. Dont bite my head off i wasnt the only one to say it dont single me out.
And the whole deserving thing was meant, in my opinion, hes alot better of a player compared to the other ones and his work ethic and effort makes him deserving of having a good week. Robinson and Brown to me just dont seem like they have as much of a work ethic (Brown actually reminds me alot of Russell who is a well documented slacker).
And i disagree with Russell failing worse than Leinhart since Russell has actually started more than 10 games while Mattys sat his ass on he bench.

Yes he did start... for the Raiders, after the other QB's got hurt or benched
While Arizona had a potential hall of famer leading them to the playoffs. Russell would have sat with the Cardinals just as Lienert would have started for the Raiders.
I didn’t bite just your head off.. I also was replying to Southman. It’s all in the same thread.
Any coach in the league would rather have Liniert then Russell right now.

Alright.
I just dont think it needed to have any heads bitten off at all its just an opinion. An opinion alot of ppl have believe it or not.

I read it as attacking an endorsement of scouting guys based on “measurables”. NFL scouts look for certain things and if a guy does not have them, they are not seen as NFL players. That is why there is so much put on things like 40 times, hand size and how the ball comes out of your hand. It’s like when MLB scouts only looked for guys who hit .300 and strikeout pitchers. They soon realized that these guys had OBP of .300, walked a lot of batters, and neither could field a groundball (defense being the least measured baseball stat). Until football embraces a sort of “Moneyball”, guys like Tebow or Pat White will be forced into a traditional qb role. The NFL would rather pick a big armed kid who is a jackass because they don’t have to innovate for the jackass. In regards to Tebow, it’s not just that he needs to clean up his release. If he threw like Dan Marino, people would still bitch about him being too heavy or too much of a running qb. Hell, it took Steve Young to win a Super Bowl before people stopped talking about him as a running qb.

Great points...
…especially about Steve Young. I’m sure most remember him pulling the monkey off of his back during that Super Bowl. All of the sudden he was a viable QB? No, he was for years, but no one wanted to believe it until that moment.

They both are bad. But he said something stupid, so I corrected him.

Tebow will get it done
Mcshay, Kiper, I am writing all your BS down to throw back at you in about 2 years.
Ever heard of Philip Rivers and Steve Young? They got blasted by scouts too. And they don’t have half the competitive will of Tebow

eeeehhh
I wouldnt exactly say that…although i agree…but phillip rivers is psyco watch the pre game interviews with bradshaw and those ppl. It is pretty well known that he will do literally anything to win hes the man. But idk about Steve i was too young to remember him playing too much so i couldnt tell ya that one. But Tim does have competitiveness that is almost unheard of
