During the LSU-Florida game in 2006, the jump pass was born. (The quality of this is clearly a guy taping his TV, but you get to see how Two-Beer Tate stayed inbounds.)

Notice the difference . . .

Tebow threw to the back of the endzone instead of just over the line, into a crowd.

Yeah, not all of Tebow’s jump passes were in the back though. One of them was incomplete because he threw into traffic and another was a TD but it was very close to being an INT.

It helps if

the TE is not being held. That should have been PI against Bama. Baron was riding Reed like a 5-year old going piggyback.
