NFL Combine Preview: Brandon James

RB Brandon James (Scheduled to workout with Group 6 on Sunday, February 28)

Size and Statistics: 5-foot-7, 185 pounds. 43 catches, 379 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns. 302 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns. 4089 return yards, 5 touchdowns in four seasons.

In 140 characters or less: Very fast return man but might be too small for the NFL. Also coming off foot surgery.

Strengths: Speed and can change direction quickly. James returned kicks like how a German car handles curvy roads.

Weaknesses: Too short to be anything other than a returner. Average hands too.

Character: In 2007, he was arrested for marijuana possession, but the charges were dropped. Was suspended for one game. Has not been a problem since.

Where will he go: Undrafted free agent. Surgically repaired right foot could cause problems.

I am rooting for James

Always liked him. I’ll bet he’s had 1/2 dozen return TDs called back for blocks in the back, and none of them helped spring the return!

There is always room for a great return man in the NFL. Tim Dwight made a living at it for several years. I agree that he needs to run a good 40 to show that his foot is healed. I assume he is running….

He's kinda like a poor man's injured

Dexter Mccluster, I think someone will get him in the 7th, just so they can try him out.
