NFL Combine Preview: Jermaine Cunningham

DE Jermaine Cunningham (Scheduled to workout with Group 7 or 8 on Monday, March 1)

Size and Statistics: 6-foot-3, 252 pounds. 152 total tackles, 19.5 sacks, five forced fumbles in four seasons.

In 140 characters or less: A consistent but not dominant defensive end.

Strengths: Cunningham can use his smarts or speed to get around offensive tackles. Rarely was Cunningham out of position as he always understood his assignments. He has long arms to chop away linemen and ballcarriers.

Weaknesses: Too light and not strong enough to be an every down end. Cunningham bridged the gap between two more talented ends; Jarvis Moss and Carlos Dunlap. He may have also met his physical plateau as he has gained 50 pounds in college.

Character: Always worked hard. One blip is that he didn't like his service at a Gainesville Jimmy John's and THREW HIS SANDWICH BACK. Let he who was pleased with the sober-up sandwich service cast the first stone.

Where will he go: Our guess is New England at 120 in the 4th round. That may be too high, however.
