What’s going on Billy???

That’s what we all want to know. It seems like once you lost Pelfrey and Grant the program is in constant turmoil.

First, I find it hard to believe that Dan Werner is better than Ray Shipman. I don’t believe in the "good ole boy" system, we should be playing our best players, not our longest tenured. Seriously the fans and sports broadcaster all know that Dan was a liability on the court, more than Ray Shipman ever was. At least an opposing team had to worry about Ray, they usually left ole Dan Werner open, to which he usually obliged by missing his shot or going inside to get it blocked.

These past two years we have had 5 transfers, and when Ray leaves we will have lost a few Mr. Basketballs. Um, I may be wrong but usually you have to be pretty good in order to be named the best basketball player in your state. If the players aren’t transitioning well, then that falls on Billy. I am almost convinced that players are more woo-ed into coming to Florida because of the facilities and the campus and the heritage of just saying I am part of Gator Nation.

Now we can’t even land some top recruits, (Brandon Knight) or a top JUCO Player. Something has got to give; I loved the progress of getting to the tournament. I love some of the recruits we supposedly have right now. However, can we get back to playing our best players. We can’t afford to be wasting recruiting classes, because that’s what’s happening in the last two years. That’s what happens when you lose 5 guys due to transfer and then 2-3 more are always out with injury. If they make mistakes oh well, just play them and I’m sure they’ll contribute.

Hopefully you can work some magic, and talk Ray into staying, because we need to keep our talent not send it packing to another school.
