Ian Darke (the announcer) is the English Gus Johnson. Also, I can’t imagine many offices got work done today between 9 and 12.

Soccer
This year, being the world cup, I thought I’d give soccer a chance. But when the first game is a ONE to ONE TIE, I’d rather kill myself than attempt to watch some boring ass sport for 90+ minutes. Seriously? Golf is more eventful to watch, and that, technically ain’t even considered a true sport, more of a richman’s hobby.
Now, don’t get me wrong, playing soccer is a ton of fun, especially when you come to terms with either puking your guts out from running all the frigging time or being content to jump in sporadically good enough to slide tackle someone.
Watching soccer, now that my friends and my enemies, is a torture invented by some high society guy to have the people ingrain in their children to watch this boring TV sport. All the while they have hired some sneaky accountants to “fudge” the numbers somewhere. Or maybe to get away from that materialistic wife, they never should’ve married in the first place.
I don’t know about being at the event live, I assume it would be the only way I could ever watch soccer, but on TV? No frigging way. I’m not wasting 90 minutes of my life to watch a game end in a 1-1 tie. or a 2-2 tie, or 89 minutes with one crucial play in the last minute, jsut give me the last minute.
Soccer blows, on TV.

Believe it or not, in the rest of the world, soccer is an urban/working-class game. The “high society” people play rugby.
And I understand what you’re saying, but this is the American team. You should root for the Americans in everything, from soccer to marbles.

I Root for USA
That’s for dang sure. but I’m not going to watch it.
As for the high society thing, I was just merely impling that the sport was sold to the masses (professional level) by the high society, not that they are actually the ones interested in it. For sure it is an urban/working-class game, I agree with that 100%, especially in 3rd world countries where equipment is of limited supply. All you need is something you can kick, and something you can kick into, between, over, or around and you have some variation of soccer.
