Get Ready Gator Nation!!!pt.1
Last year was a disappointing year for Florida and the Gatornation for not winning the BCS Championship. The Florida legend Tim Tebow is gone , dont think we will miss a beat at all,we might be better off without him.In 2008 , we had an excellent offense and defense, but we didnt have the pressure on us and our staff was a little new to the system like Dan McCarney (the defensive line coach). Also Vince Bedford(the cornerback coach) and Kenny Carter (the halfback coach) all of them were new to Florida that year so throw that new assistants crap in the garbage ,because that is not gonna prevent us from winning a championship. We good assistants coming in like Teryl Austin(defensive coodinator/cornerbacks),Zach Azzanni(wide receiver),Stan Drayton(running backs),D.J. Durkin(Linebacker) and Urban Meyer will put them under his wing and teach them his ways this year.If you think these are not good addition for Gatornation ,lets evalute each new staff member we start of with Teryl Austin.Teryl came from Arizona Cardinals ,he was coaching the defensive backs, when the team lead the NFL in interception return yardage and touchdowns in 2007 with 551 and 6.Also a team who made it to a the 2008 SuperBowl ,and he also coach the Seattle Seahawks defensive backs from 2003 to 2006.Austin had alot of accomplishments at Seattle, during his tenure in Seattle, Austin was instrumental in the development of the Seahawks’ secondary heavily pieced together through the NFL Draft, mentoring draft picks Marcus Trufant (first round, 2003), Ken Hamlin (second round, 2003), Michael Boulware (second round, 2004) and Kelly Jennings (first round, 2006).In winning the NFC in 2005 in Seattle, Austin's secondary, despite missing a combined of 19 games due to injury, helped carry the Seahawks to the Super Bowl. The defensive backfield was led by Boulware, who in only his second NFL season led the team in interceptions (four) and was second on the team in tackles (73).In 2004, Austin coached a group of Seahawks defensive backs that, for just the second time in team history (1984), had three different players intercept at least five passes and for the first time since 1984, all four starters intercepted at least four. Collectively, the Seahawks ranked third in the NFL with 23 interceptions and collected at least one pick in all but two games. He also coach the league best talent in college like Cato June,Keith Bulluck,Marlin Jackson,Will Allen.Zach Azzanni he coached a group that produced four receivers with 1,000 yards receiving in 2004. Stan Drayton was with us in 2006 so he will fit easily ,he coached Brain Westbrook,Deshawn Wynn,Jerious Norwood.D.J. Durkin coached Justin Tuck and helped the Cardinal rank 11th nationally in sacks per game in 2007 and 2009. Thats it for part 1 stay tune for part 2 ,remember you can follow me on youtube or twitter.

the only problem is that we are without defensive genius
Charley Strong :(
Beware Newyorkers, Jason Heyward has arrived, he will rob A-rod of 100 homeruns, and will bring at least 5 world series trophies to the great city of Atlanta
so...
So what he wasnt that good look at how many yards he gave up against alabama and instead of a linebacker scheme of basing their skill on instinct they basing it on speed and instinct so the can sack that qb what im sayin is we will be fine

I'll give you a pass
Because you (like I) are young, but if you think that Strong did not play as much of a role in the success of the Gators during your memorable life then you have to rewind…. Not only did his scheme shut down the “Best Offense Ever” (though overrated) for the 08 NC, he played an integral role in recruiting the talent needed to execute…
Tebow will get the press for being missed, but with this young group on defense (especially DE’s) I may be longing for Charlie Strong more…
Gator “Tradition” has largely been shaped in the past two decades, and the best defenses in Gator history has been in the last one. Lets not get too big for our jock straps just yet and feel entitled… Next thing you know we won’t even sell the majority of our tickets to a Sugar Bowl (The best bowl an SEC team can attend short of the BCS title game).
Best defense?
Bob stoops, 96’. Vs. Charlie Strong, 08’???
Idk…

definitely bob stoops in college wise , but in pro talent wis its charlie strong and i think the 2006 defense was better than 2008 defense

Hopefully
With luck, they will keep a few of the ideas and techniques that made Strong so valuable, and Austin will bring in some fresh ideas and ways of going about the game from an NFL perspective (practices, schemes, etc)…
Unseen, is if he can still recruit like Strong…
dumbass
did you not see the last recruiting class strong wasnt there at the time was he? no he was already at louisville and we still had the top recruiting class think before you talk you idiot

Relax...
You sound like a 12 year old. Save the insults for FSU bloggers.

Recruiting
You are aware that Strong helped recruit many of those players we signed? It’s not like coaches don’t start recruting in January for February signing day. Look how many verbals we have for 2011 already.
That said, I don’t think we’ll miss Strong that much on the recruiting end- I think his assistants did most of the leg work. We will miss Strong a lot though – the most amazing part is that he didn’t get a head coaching gig sooner.
i disagree
did you watch the alabama game that was unexcusable and steve adiazio and urban meyer was the man reason that we got recruits
Mike Gillislee #23 ''THE BEAST''
I did watch the Alabama game
I was there. And I was screaming “nonbody is covering Julio!!! Somebody get Julio!!!” on the first play of the game when they left him wide open and he caught an easy for 21 yards.
Obviously Strong wasn’t prepared for that game – he already had an offer on the table and obviously his head wasn’t 100% in it. But it’s not like Bama wasn’t the undefeated national champions last season. They were a pretty good team.
Did you see the 28 games before that. Strong was a hell of a defenseive coordinator and if you think we’re just going to keep rolling and allow 13 points per game on defense this season, then pass me some of whatever you’re smoking.

bs
i aint smoking nothing, if you cant show up in the big game then no one cares what u did in the regular season like why u think people still judge lebron he a great talent but he doesnt show up in big games , or jerry sloan he has 1000 win but no rings or peyton maning he has a ring but ever since then he all ways blow games with i really good team
Mike Gillislee #23 ''THE BEAST''
I'm finished arguing with you
Those previous 28 games I was referring to included an SEC Championship win and a National Championship – in which the defense was stellar. So what you are really saying is if you ever have a bad game, then nobody remembers you?
First you say that you aren’t really great unless you win a championship, but then you say Peyton isn’t good enough because he only won 1 title. Whatever man.
I would venture to say that if you took Jordan in his prime and put him on the Cavs, he’d have the same number of titles as LeBron.
Jordan had Pippen. LeBron had Delonte West. Game over. That holds true for Kobe – who has always been surrounded by a load of talent.
and please stop this series
This one was bad enough, but part 2 barely qualifies as English.

thank u man
thanks for your encouragement i wont stop regardless what anyone says
Mike Gillislee #23 ''THE BEAST''
True
Wright ant Lott are probably my favorite secondary backfield short of ’06’s Reggie, Reggie and Ryan… I will admit I was not even out of elementary school at the time. so only know what I have seen on Sunshine’s Classics…
Might be because it’s fresh in mind or because I was there, but am very biased toward the 06 squad. To say of Strong “so what he wasn’t that good” is almost as bad as me neglecting Stoops taking solid control of the facet of the game to OBC didn’t really want to be bothered with…
What about 1996. Tony George. Wore the #1 jersey.
Everybody on here probably remembers when before that game when we brawled with FSU before the game…and Tony George took his helmet off and starting smashing FSU players with it in the scrum at the 50 yard line.
The Once and Future King
I remember it well
It pretty much cost us the game when George was ejected during the pregame along with some FSU scrubs that didn’t play anyway.
You can bag on Strong all you want, but...
the man was an institution within itself at UF for over 20 years…
He was even my unit leader over 6 summers of football camp I attended at UF from the late 80’s into the 90’s…
There is a reason he was kept on and brought back over and over as the HC changed…
Because he’s a damn fine football coach…
You can piss and moan about one game all you’d like, but the bottom line is that guy loves the program, the University and the fans…
Why does a man trade a POS car
for a Lexus or Infinity?
Those two car lines aren’t really the top, but when you can’t have your BMW or Mercedes, a Lexus or Infinity can pass for the time being.
What’s better less cash and lower position or more cash and higher position? Especially when the higher position could potentially allow you to get an even higher position with more cash in the future.
Get out of my House!
Why did he ditch us?
When a man leaves a D.C. job for a head coaching position he is not ditching anyone. He is simply following the progression to build his own team and his own dream. If he did anything less, he would be less of a man. Can you imagine Meyer, Saban, Spurrier or Bear Bryant stuck in a position coach job because of loyalty to a team? I am profoundly thankful for the contributions Charlie Strong made to UF but I wish him well in his new endeavor. The man is a teacher and mentor to young men and he deserves his shot at building a program that will carry his name for decades.
Yeah. We were very lucky and fortunate to have Charlie for as long as we did. He has definitely earned this job. It is well documented that his skin color along with the fact that his wife is of a different skin color than he is…cost him job after job. He was the perennial “token interview” for a lot of teams.
The Once and Future King
k
look i understand if it was like some big 10 or pac 10 or big 12 team but really the big east come on now thats lame
