THE 3-4 DEFENSE
Wouldn't it be nice if all of those defensive tackles we have could be used more often.
We have so many of them like Marsh, Sanders, Antwine, Omar Hunter, Jaye Howard, and the freshmen, Leon Orr, Sharrif Floyd, and Dominique Easley. From what has been said by many of the players, Floyd, Easley, and Orr are doing really well and that means they could become part of the rotation. Basically, on pass rushing downs, Florida used to have a three man front which allowed an easier path for linebackers to rush the passer. This year, the defensive tackles could become pass rushers which is a really interesting prospect considering the success that Alabama has had with Marcell Dareus, who is a DT in the 4-3 setup but he is a Defensive end in the 3-4. Considering how well guys like Jaye Howard, Dominique Easley, and Sharrif Floyd can rush the passer with their athleticism, it seems like an interesting proposition to have the more athletic DTs to become defensive ends in the 3-4 scheme. The Florida pass rush could really improve if that were to happen. This also opens up the possibilities for guys like Ronald Powell and William Green to rush from linebacker positions in addition to Brandon Hicks, who has also shown his ability to rush the passer with 3 sacks in his 3 starts at the end of last year.
Please be kind and use good grammar.

I think Florida is better off in the 3-3-5
Get Matt Elam on the field, not an extra LB.

I’ve never really been a fan of the 3-4 defense or any other defense other than a 4-3.
As for the 3-3-5. Not a chance. Leave that to the West Virginia’s.
The Once and Future King
As I said before 4-3 defense can be ran out of the 335 set. With our hybrid lb’s it works very well to be able to switch to a 4-3 on a running down or switch to a dime or nickel set on a passing down.

I love it!
As long as we have big fast hard hitting players, it’s very tough to find a weakness. I guess running up the gut is the only problem, but it’s s bend but don’t break idea.

I never liked the 3-4
when defending against a pass I use man to man and it works for me
