Game One: Miami (Ohio) vs. Florida Gators; Opening Day 104
Miami (Ohio) RedHawks at Florida Gators, Sep 4, 2010 12:00 PM EDT
Game One: Miami (Ohio) RedHawks vs. Florida Gators
Kickoff: 12pm
Weather: Sunny, 89 degrees, 30 percent chance of rain.
Television: ESPN
Series History: Miami (OH) 1-0
Line, O/U: Florida -38, 54 O/U
The Gators should have no problem with the RedHawks. What will be interesting to see is how vanilla the Gators play. Fans want to see the bomb and exotic defensive formations. But it's better for the Gators to keep things close to the vest before USF and Tennessee.
I am excited to see what John Brantley does and how good Chris Rainey really will be as a receiver. On defense, who will be in the middle; Jon Bostic or Jelani Jenkins? Will the problem children Dominique Easley and Ronald Powell cause as many problems for the RedHawks as they have reportedly caused in practice?
The goals for this game are to stay healthy and get comfortable. Everything will get harder starting tomorrow.
Alligator Army will be in Gainesville. Follow us on the twitter @AlligatorArmy. Since we'll be driving back on I-75, expect a delay before our game report.

All the fumbles aren’t helping much either. I think that Manny Moody is just about out of chances at UF. Urban hates his fumbles and one on a simply toss sweep on 4th down might be the last straw!
If Carl Moore’s injury is related to his back again, he might be in trouble too.
I also am very disappointed in Deonte for dropping yet another TD that hit him in the mitts.
On a positive note, the defense looks better than I expected. Some of those youngsters will be players by year’s end. Janoris and Ahmad are in all-star form already. Omar Hunter and Jaye Howard look great too.
Hopefully the 2nd half will get better….
Gillislee might be the future of the offense..

bad snaps the story today
the offense has to work on the C/QB exchanges, especially in shotgun formations. Having less than 100 yards offense total halfway through the 3rd quarter is a disaster for what’s supposed to be a Top 5 BCS team. Only those huge run plays saved the offense from total embarrassment.
Witty's 2010 Draft review is full of meaty goodness. What you mean, you're vegan?! Sigh. Just read it.
Yaaaay
For the worst offensive coordinator in the league! And yay or Terrible snaps.
Seriously, 4th and 1 a pitch run was called. 3rd and 31, they call a 2 yard screen. 4th and 4? Let’s go with a 2 yard route. Amazing.

I really do believe Florida will fix this before SEC play schedules
Maybe replacing Tebow/Hernandez/Spikes/Haden wasn’t as easy as you guys thought it was going to be? I honestly believe Florida will win the East but I hope this game tempers a bit of the “Brantley will be better than Tebow” exuberance we’ve been hearing the last 9 months or so.

I was in the camp that said it wouldn’t be easy. Brantley will be better than Tebow, in the passing department. In the leader department and all that goes with that, remains to be seen.
The Once and Future King
Oh, no doubt
We went through this last year with the “senior leadership of Joe Cox will be better than Stafford/Moreno” meme. And we also learned that you can’t replace talent. I think Florida will still be really good this year (better than us and win the East) but I think it’s going to be a 2006 version of the Gators where the offense can’t bail out the team anymore and the defense will have to be lights out.
