Quran burning called off, back to football in Gainesville

Numerous outlets are reporting that Dove World Outreach has canceled their planned Quran burning, for Saturday. The planned publicity stunt by Dove World could have put the University of Florida, among others, at risk. The Associated Press reports a bizarre agreement was reached to prevent the burning.

The minister of a Gainesville church said he has canceled plans to burn copies of the Quran because the leader of a much-opposed plan to build an Islamic Center near ground zero has agreed to move its location. The agreement couldn't be immediately confirmed.

Whatever. The Dove World cult leader has been a charlatan and publicity-seeking missile this entire episode. Just fade into the background and get the hell out of Gainesville.

The guy got Sec. Gates to call him yesterday. I think he wants Obama to call just so he could get all the attention possible. But he is supposed to be going to NY today.

Also, when the Imam “negotiating” went into Dove compound yesterday, he related it to the Branch Davidians at Waco. Apparently, they were heavily armed. So now there is that to worry about.

Maybe Jones will get those 230 morons who said they supported burning the Koran in yesterday’s Gainsville Sun poll to join his bogus “church”. Remember there just as many people on the left side of the IQ bell curve as there are on the right. The IQ at the top of the curve is 100, and they all get to vote. Jones is a con man. Maybe he’s related to Jim Jones. Kool-Aid anyone?
