Why The Gators Should Fire Will Muschamp
(I wish I had the Photoshop skills to put a troll face on Muschamp for this one. -Andy)
This is just that point in the season when things have gone too far. The Florida Gators are ranked 17th in the USA Today poll and just came off a soul-crushing loss to The Alabama Crimson Tide. They held Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps to only 24 yards. A record of 4-1 is just not acceptable for Will Muschamp. It is time for him to go.
The Alabama Crimson Tide soundly beat the Florida Gators 38 - 10 in The Swamp. We should never ever lose in The Swamp. Charlie Weis said he was going to "throw the kitchen sink" at the Tide but obviously failed to do so. Despite the first play of the game, in which John Brantley threw a bomb to Andre Debose, the Gators failed to put a significant number of points on the board. With Weis' history, he should have put at least 50 on the Tide. AT LEAST.
Sure, Demps may have been injured on a kickoff return, but Rainey could not replace him effectively. Trent Richardson could not be stopped despite Dan Quinn loading the box. Muschamp is responsible for the offensive line not protecting Brantley enough as well, leading to Florida's starting quarterback ending up with a high ankle sprain. It's obvious we have the talent, but we clearly don't have the coaches to correct this.
Another notable thing, Coach Will Muschamp shows almost no emotion on the sideline. It's like he doesn't even care. The Florida Gators should go after Indianapolis Colts coach Ron Prince, or coach Bud Kilmer from West Canaan, Texas.
...but do you know what the worst part about all of this is? Some people actually agree with the craziness I just wrote. I've seen it on Twitter, blogs, and in comments section. If you think Will Muschamp should be fired after one game against an extremely talented team in his first year, you may want to think about staying off the Internet.
Please be kind and use good grammar.

Personally, I think it's all part of a grand evil plot on the part of Saban...
One by one he’s inserting agents into schools in his immediate area to dismantle their programs behind the scenes of the false hope and fool’s gold they sell upfront…
First the Spearchuckers get bamboozled by Jimbo and talked into firing Coach Peepaw…now UF is about to get blown up by Boom…Weis? Just brought in to be the scapegoat…
And the government…they’re in on it with the aliens…Bigfoot, Nessie, the Tooth Fairy…all in on it too…Just out to get us for some reason…not to worry though…Got plenty of tin foil hats at the house…they won’t be reading my thoughts…suggest you do the same…

Not to mention that further seperating Fulmer from UT is key due to the fact that Phat Phil’s favorite pasttime is pointing out what big cheaters they are in Tuscaloosa…

There is one. I am assuming it is the same guy that had the Zook one which rolled into the meyer one, which now rolled into the muschamp one? He should of left it alone at zook.

No clue about the meyer one or if the muschamp one is related
It’s not the same guys that ran zook.

The Fire Addazio crowd spun off into another site.
While I was not happy with the offense last year and found a degree of common cause with them in that regard, the stuff they’ve produced since the changing of the guard is in the same douchey, spoiled, and generally clueless vein. Those folks exemplify the element of our fanbase that I sincerely wish would choose another team.

And the dumber side of Gators comes out
I personally have a hard time believing anyone with half a brain, or even a smidgen less would know better than to rant about firing Will. But apparently as our good friend Paradigm informs, we simply have too many brainless Gator fans … and they know how to use the internet … scary, maybe zombies really do exist.

as a nole fan...
even i thought he was crazy lol i just happened to look over and that was the first thing that popped up… i was like wow, talk about a short leash lol I mean u couldn’t get mad for losing to a team u are suppose to lose to. I wasn’t mad about losing to OU, thought we had a good chance, but hey, they are more talented so wth. By the way, before this hiring happened, who was first on yall’s list as far as coaches u wanted? I mean muschamp is a good coach and has coached many good football teams, but i was surprised he was the first in line? I mean i said the same about Jimbo, but obviously it has worked out. jc hearing from gator fans
Based on the players we had, Gus Malzahn was at the top of my list. But I’m happy with Muschamp and the coaches he brought on. I think it is better long term.

Currently OC at Auburn
but he’s coached at Tulsa and Arkansas as well. Pretty innovative guy, so much so that he frequently clashed with Nutt while both were in Fayetteville. Very up-tempo style.
Personally, I wanted a defensive-minded HC with Malzahn or Dana Holgorsen (WVU Head Coach, formerly Okie State OC) for OC. I am very happy with the staff we’ve got now though.

lol i know....
i mean i know UF gives short leashes, (Zook) and rightfully so, but 5 games in and they are already giving him the broom lol Those fans must be delusional about their team and actually thought beating FAU and Tennessee and Kentucky was doing something. Man, if we beat those guys, we can play with Bama… well sorry but your rebuilding lol But let’s just blame it on the coach lol They probably also thought that Driskel would be an all american passer his freshmen year lol
Im 100% with you

It's the return game
for their trip up here in ‘08, so as far as I know, there won’t be. To me, the biggest upside of the FSU to SEC chatter was the opportunity for the Gators to bring back the Miami series as an annual game.

Doubtful
as this would probably increase the amount of conference games we play. Negating any scheduling leeway to factor in a Miami.

If we went to all creampuffs, all the time OOC
I think the season ticket holders and many other fans would revolt. We didn’t sell out the first two games of our new coach’s tenure. That’s kind of ridiculous, even considering the economy.
For the record, I hate our annual November FCS game. I understand wanting to work out the kinks at the beginning of the year against inferior teams, but there is no excuse for scheduling some nothing team that late in the year, except possibly for homecoming, but even then, can’t we at least play an AQ conference cellar dweller?

definitely...
did chizik ever cross your mind? i mean he had similar resumes. and did u ever try Bob Stoops?
Chizik? No way. lol
Stoops? Eh. Some Gators fans wanted him, some didn’t. Some thought we could get him. Some didn’t.
Me personally? I was realistic and didn’t think we would be able to get him. And, I didn’t want him anyways. The whole “Big game Bob” thing hasn’t looked the greatest over the last 10 years. As others have said, 98% of UF fans are happy with the staff we have in place.
- Jeff Driskel lover
lol gotcha...
ya i thought stoops would be stupid to leave. nothing against UF just the fact that he is a legend at OU and has a great program there. I would have been shocked had he left. There would be a short leash at UF anyways so why not live with less stress there instead of having to compete with Saban, Jimbo, Richt, and Miles on the recruiting trails in Florida. All he has to battle is really Texas and maybe Okie State and A&M. Also, did u guys try to find the next Urban by hiring a successful coach at a small school, for instance Patterson at TCU or petersen at Boise?
Chizik. No.
Stoops, only in 2002.

Leach is an idiot. But he’ll leave Key West for the first “big” job he will be offered. But with the way he left, I don’t think he will get a really nice gig.
I wouldn’t take Leach on the UF staff if he was free.
Editor at Alligator Army - The Florida Gators Blog

I think he got a raw deal at Texas Tech,
but you are right that it’s usually not a good idea to hire an employee who has filed suit against both his former employer and the biggest media outlet covering his area of expertise. I think Leach is one of the best offensive minds out there, though Malzahn is up there too (and likely a better choice due to less professional baggage).
Leach would definitely quiet down the “throw the ball more” contingent of the fanbase though.

Yeah, Muschamp doesn't show emotion on the sideline...
…in the same way that John MacEnroe never showed emotion on the tennis court.
The author of this post
is exactly right. As an FSU fan, I’d love to see drama at UF. However, there is no need for UF fans to overreact and say “fire Will Muschamp.” That would be rediculous and those are the type of fans you dont want supporting your team. Florida is still transitioning under the new staff and new system wheras Alabama is one of the best teams in the nation. A loss to Alabama and LSU should not cause panic by UF fans. If UF lost to FAU, maybe those actions are acceptable.
