Drums...drums in the deep

 "They have taken the bridge… and the second hall. We have barred the gates… but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes. Drums… drums… in the deep. We cannot get out. A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out… They are coming!"

That passage was the first thing that popped into my mind when the news about Brissett possibly starting hit the web. Florida, coming off being crushed to death under the Bama machine, is going into Death Valley (in this theme, Death Valley would Balin's Tomb and the month of October would be the mines of Moria). The starting QB for the Gators has never taken a snap in college (Pippin? Fool of a Took!). Demps may or may not be healthy, and the run defense had an epic letdown last week (post-Weathertop Frodo and Boromir before his redemption). 

They are heading into Mordor (which one does not simply walk into) to face The Hat (a cave troll) and the Honey Badger (a Nazgul), both of whom can create enough havoc and confusion to wreck a four year starter, let alone someone who's never taken a snap in college. This is a monumental task. An impossible task. 

Which is why Boom should look to the Kings of Gondor and Rohan for motivation tomorrow. We are going to die, but we shall do it on our own terms. 

Aragorn (Weis): Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them.
Theodin (Boom): For death and glory?
Aragorn: For Rohan. For your people.
Gimli: The sun is rising.
Theodin: ...Yes...yes! The horn in Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time!
Gimli: Yes!

Theodin (to Aragorn): Let this be the hour that we draw swords together.

Theodin: Fell deeds awake: now for wrath! Now for ruin! And the red dawn!
