Yeah, Bill C falls in line with the other people who are saying Gator Bowl. He is now the 5th person. What’s funny is that all five people, have us playing someone different.

I saw that. I think the Gator Bowl is where we will end up, which is fitting. I hope we play either Illinois or Ohio State. Surely we can out coach those 2 teams, am i right? Maybe? Hopefully?

Given the choice, I pick Illinois.

I’d rather play the Zookers though. More … interesting.

Gator Bowl
Has shown time and time again that they will take a terrible team over more deserving teams in hopes to sell tickets. Florida is that terrible team this year. Hopefully not too terrible to be non-eligible.
We’ll get there. No worries.

Are we going to have a write up on the Basketball game tonight and will there be a Gametracker online somewhere?
Coach Muschamp: Laying the Boom down on your a.....
I’ll be out of the house tonight (it is Thursday … and let’s face it … I refuse to grow up), so I won’t be able to check in on the game. But here they are…
Gametracker : here … Video (GatorVision) : here … Radio : here
And yes, they all open up in a new window.

What I mean by all of that is …
Between half-priced pool, $1 house tequila shots and the FSU football game tonight (I’ll be over at a buddies house for some of it)… I don’t think I’ll have time to watch the basketball game.

Thanks, man. Yeah, I won’t be able to follow it either, but I will check the gametracker every here and there.
Any chance of a FSU loss tonight? Doubtful. Damn. :(

Never underestimate the possibility of the Thursday night upset.

True! I’m just not seeing it tonight tho.
Boston College is 2-6 (1-4 ACC) with a blowout loss to UCF and a loss to Duke. If FSU loses to BC that is pathetic. At least we will end the season with all our losses being to teams in the top 25 knock on wood.

I’m just waiting for the SEC Basketball Tournament. I wanna see if I can pick every single game correctly again.

Hey … I’m proud of that. How many people can pick the entire tournament perfect? I’d be willing to bet that nobody (all SEC sites at SB Nation) or any other person got it affiliated with SB Nation.

Haha probably not. I give you your props for it because Conference Tournaments are hard as hell to predict.

Picking those games, and a 3rd place finish in last year’s pick em’ (which we had more people) are like my legacy thus far at AA.
THEY ARE MY LEGACY!!!

I'm going.
Though only for part of the first half. (I work at 8.) I’ll have a quick preview up, and a box score-based write-up afterward.

Muschamp may be a good recruiter, but so are most coaches these days.
The recruiting class has also remained intact for the same reasons Texas’ does when they have a down year, Miami still pulls in decent classes, and every other school in the big 15-20 historically can get a decent class even with an off year or two…
A lot of these kids aren’t weighing what the school is doing now nearly as heavily as what they hope they’ll be doing when they’re there. I’m sure Colin Thompson (just using as an example of a very pro-Gator recruit at the moment) isn’t happy Florida is 4-4, but he is much more concerned about what the record will be in 2012, 2013, etc. Going 6-6 may have an impact on some kids’ decisions, but the record their college had during their senior year of high school doesn’t mean as much as people think.
Muschamp and the coaches definitely play a huge role in that, but never negate the power of the big programs. We’ve all seen how quickly a program can turn around after an off year or two and a lot of these kids want to be a part of that. Some want to “fix the problem.”
by The Bull Gator on Nov 3, 2011 2:24 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Also if you can't recruit at Florida then you can't recruit.
It’s not exactly tough to convince kids to come here

so explain to me how UF will get the Gator Bowl?
i thought it had ACC and Big East ties. Plus I feel like it is one of the better suck bowls, I mean its not the chick fil a, cotton, or capitol one, but its not the international bowl or the spaghetti bowl. I mean if UF end up 6-6, do they deserve it? I mean i know FSU got it with 5 or six losses but that was for a historic reason, I don’t think UF has one. I am just curious.
Gator signed contracts with the SEC and Big 10

The Gator Bowl is SEC and Big 10. Last year was the first year that those conferences got the tie-in for the Gator Bowl … it was Miss State and Michigan, I believe.
The previous tie-ins were like every other conference. I think even the Big 12 was a tie-in up until last year as well. Even Notre Dame.

Florida will get into the Gator Bowl for many reasons. For one is the location. They know they will sell more tickets getting us then getting a team from the north. Plus I believe the Gator Bowl takes around the 5th or 6th best team from the SEC. We are currently the 6th best team in the SEC so yeah we will get it.
Coach Muschamp: Laying the Boom down on your a.....
Gotcha thanks guys
I didn’t realize they changed their contracts so much lol it would obviously make the most sense location wise but the bowl selection committee isn’t always that inteligent.
by FSU@UNF on Nov 3, 2011 4:23 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Don't forget...
Bowls select in order of preference, not by conference standings. That is precisely the reason Mississippi State went to the Gator Bowl last year and Florida got the Outback Bowl. The Outback Bowl got to pick before the Gator, and went with the bigger name team evern though Florida finished behind MSU in the standings and even lost at home to MSU. I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar shenanigans this year, especially if Florida can eke out a 7-5 finish by beating either South Carolina or FSU.
ya, i just thought the gator bowl was out of reach as far as record...
but, nothing ever goes to plan its all about money lol. It’ll be interesting to see what their record ends up being
Clout which translates to ticket sales and TV ratings.
That’s what got UF into the second highest paying bowl outside the BCS last season.
