What many don't understand is how prevalent marijuana is and always has been in Gainesville. If Franklin County, WV was the wettest county in the world, then Gainesville not only knows Holden Caufield, but is in fact the elusive fictional character himself in THAT sense. [wink wink nudge nudge]
Spencer writes on Gainesville's particular and peculiar relationship with the sticky icky, and how it factors into the Janoris Jenkins saga.
And yet I saw a free rap concert on Flavet last week and it didn't smell weird at all. I may never understand Gainesville.

Gainesville is not for you or I to understand...
…it is but for us to enjoy.

No matter what they say or do...
Our rivals our simply just jealous in the end that they don’t have the same access to they abundunce of the sweetest & dankest sensimilla in the Southeastern United States…
You may not like what I have to say...but somebody has to say it...
Most of us have no problem acknowledging that fact.
Even before the technological advances in cultivation and back in the early 80’s, we had the Tally to G’ville drive down to just over 2 hours just to stock up on the Micanopy Madness.

I'm not so sure this Jimbo fella is the right man for the job.
Sorry, Frank...I ain't buyin' that...
You are way to uptight to EVER have smoked anything other than some Pall Malls behind your Pappy’s woodshed…

Flavet concerts
Andy, I lived in Keys for two years, so I experienced the joy/despair of being able to hear every Flavet concert plain as day. I did get to see a cool Flaming Lips show, which made up for it being freezing that night
I lived in Keys (same building as Lee Humphrey!) the year of that Flaming Lips concert. And it definitely smelled like weed during that thing.
I was walking by Graham while running some errands before this concert...
…and if you have your window open in Graham, you can hear it all. That was pretty cool, I thought.

Graham Oasis
Does it still have that Boar’s Head in it? I must’ve eaten a million sammiches from that places freshman year…the ladies working there knew my sammich without having to ask.
