Now two months into his treatment and rehabilitation for Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Danny Wuerffel is improving. In a statement released on the Desire Street Ministries website, Danny says that among other things, he is starting to feel like a person again and not like a patient.
"As I move into the second month of my battle with Guillain-Barre, I'm finally starting to feel more like a person and less like a patient," Wuerffel writes. "And I'm getting stronger."
I can get around the house pretty well and have started rehab. I’m doing some push-ups, knee bends (which is the medical term for wimpy squats without any weight), and have been able to ride the stationary bike a little (for all you folks who think now is the time to finally beat me at something, you better hurry up cause I’m coming back strong, baby! :)
He also says that his teacher for Wednesday was a turtle. But from the sound of things, judging by how long the average time-frame for recovery is, things are going very well. Hopefully, things continue to get better for Danny, his friends and family.
