DISCLAIMER: THIS IS WRITEN BY A GATOR FAN SO HATE AWAY
I'm going to have to start this post out but nothing but respect for the Crimson Tide. We happened to win in 2008 and the tide dominated in 2009. We can both agree that both teams won the National Championship those years and deserved to win. If you don't agree, you should check yourself into the nearest mental hospital.
I may be a Gator but I am friends with many Alabama fans and consider myself a semi-objective person. There is one thing we can agree on this weekend. The Alabama-Florida game this weekend is huge. The winner is in prime position to take on LSU for the SEC championship
I'd like to start out in 2005. I was sitting in my apartment in Gainesville, Florida. I saw Alabama absolutely destroy us. Tyrone Prothro ran over our cornerbacks with ease. He seemed unstoppable. Our DBs could not cover him. Unfortunately he went down with an injury (Any fans who cheered at this deserve to go straight to hell).
The next time we played was 2006. It was my 21st birthday. Alabama absolutely dominated in the beginning but the Gators came back to win. Reggie Nelson picked off John Parker Wilson to finish the game.
These teams have nothing but respect for one another. This weekends game is going to be insane but the kind of insane game that SEC fans look forward too. It's a night game in the Swamp.
Trent Richardson is a man beast. The Gators have Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey (#TimeToDeisman), and Mike Gillisee. They lead the SEC in rush offense (Yes, I know they have only played Tenn and UK as their "real opponents") This is the real test for the Florida Gators. Can they match up against the insane defense of theAlabama Crimson Tide, Will John Brantley be able to complete a jump pass without getting intercepted on the first red zone play of the game? Time will tell y'all.
Charlie Weis has improved the offense greatly. He is the anti-Steve Addazio. Our tiny-small-frail RBs have actually produced insane numbers including the go ahead check down to Chris Rainey that happened to turn into an 83 yard TD. Will this be able to happened against Alabama? Probably not.
This is one gator fan that will not be betting on this game. Both teams are extremely talented and could win. If anyone makes a Tornado joke, they should be banished. Good luck to both teams.
