Florida vs. Georgia: Gators open as 3.5-point favorites, briefly

Florida won't need to do a lot to cover in their game against Georgia if the Gators win.

Do you think Florida will be more than a field goal better than Georgia next Saturday? Congratulations: You have the chance to make a lot of money by betting on the Gators, who open as 3.5-point favorites over the Bulldogs.

The problem with that? You're going to have to get your money in quickly. The line has already moved up to 4.5 points less than 10 minutes after opening, and I think there's value in it up to and maybe above 6.5 points, especially given the chance that Georgia's Jarvis Jones might not play.

Florida covered its smallish spread against South Carolina handily: After going up 7-0 less than a minute into the game, the Gators never led by fewer than four points.

Florida has won 18 of 22 games against Georgia in the teams' annual series, but Georgia won last year's game in Jacksonville with a couple clutch plays on fourth down.
