Yeah, the orange is back. - Sam Greenwood
Florida should win easily against Louisiana-Lafayette. The Gators need to start passing fancy again.
Today, The Swamp plays host to one of the most anticlimactic Homecoming games in Florida history. The Gators have already run through their SEC schedule, and played at home last week; they haven't been outside the state of Florida in about a month. And Louisiana-Lafayette isn't scaring anyone.
But Florida's got a major issue on its hands with an offense that has all but been grounded: the Gators, not long removed from having three of the finest college quarterbacks of the last 20 years (Danny Wuerffel, Rex Grossman, and Tim Tebow), have been held under 200 yards passing in their last five games, and that futility is finally helping foes key on stopping Mike Gillislee and the once-potent Florida running game.
For Homecoming, the Gators are in orange throwback jerseys, and there will be a lot of older alumni who remember the '80s and the Steve Spurrier years packing the stands that students can't seem to fill. It'd be neat if the passing game decided to turn back the clock, too.
