Jacoby Brissett relieved Jeff Driskel after the latter received an injury to his right ankle. The results were, for the most part, good.
With the news that Jacoby Brissett will more than likely start instead of the injured Jeff Driskel this Saturday against Jacksonville State, this post is more than fitting.
Was it preplanned even before that news? Yes. Will I claim that it wasn't and I'm psychic? Yes.
Shhhh. Quiet, you.
Play No. 1: Brissett's 39-yard pass to Jordan Reed
The more I watch this throw, the more I'm impressed by it. I was also prepared to review one of his two sacks, but that horse has long been dead and beaten.

Reed on a go route, matched up against a linebacker? Hell, yes, I'll take this matchup every time. There isn't a linebacker in the country that can keep up with him.

Great protection is given to Brissett (yellow circle) on the throw.

The ball is perfectly placed. It is just over the outstretched arm of the linebacker.

Reed completes the catch and takes the ball all the way to the Lafayette 3. And he didn't fumble!
Play No. 2: Brissett's touchdown pass to Quinton Dunbar

It's the same route that Trey Burton ran earlier in the game for a touchdown, only deeper.

A little play action to Mike Gillislee never hurt anyone.

The impressive thing about this play is that Brissett makes this throw from his back foot, on the run, with a guy in his face. Not bad at all.

Dunbar makes a great catch for the touchdown.
Whether we're Driskel or Brissett guys, aren't we all Gators? Let's worry about Jacksonville State, then Florida State. Hopefully the coaching staff thinks the same.
