The Florida Gators smashed the Florida State Seminoles. Now they need some help from the USC Trojans and Stanford Cardinal.

After their 37 to 26 victory over the Florida State Seminoles, the Florida Gators need some help. Much like they did in 1996 from the Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes, this time the Gators need the USC Trojans (for sure) and the Stanford Cardinal (kind of) to win.

Why do we want those two teams to win, again?

Because while the Gators are pretty much assured a BCS Bowl, they could sneak into the BCS National Championship Game if USC knocks of No. 1 Notre Dame. We know that next week Alabama and Georgia will take care of one-another and that victory by USC could bump the Gators into the No. 2 spot.

Speaking of conference championship games...

A win by the Sanford Cardinal over the UCLA Bruins would keep the Oregon Ducks out of the Pac-12 Championship Game. Why is that big? Well, if Stanford is in the game and Oregon isn't, Oregon, like Florida won't have a chance to win their conference. That's big in the minds of the voters.

I guess Oregon could lose in the Pac-12 Championship Game, but why leave things to chance more than you have to.

Go USC! Go Stanford!

Go... Lane Kiffin! (That looks, sounds, reads so wrong.)
