Nelson Agholor Commits To USC Over Florida
Nelson Agholor, the No. 18 rated recruit according to Rivals, has committed to Southern California, announcing the news on television on National Signing Day 2012. Agholor, who played for Berkley Prep in Tampa, Florida, chose USC over Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
Agholor said in making his decision that many things were factors, including academics, comfort level with the coaches, and that he will start out trying to play on offense. He also mentioned that he "went with his heart, and has been a long-time USC fan."
Agholor had zeroed in on USC on National Signing Day after also considering Florida and Florida State in the final moments. He also said that playing with Hesiman candidate Matt Barkley was a big factor in him picking USC instead of Florida or Florida State.
Agholor was the third-highest wide receiver in the Rivals rankings, trailing Dorial Green-Beckham and Stefon Diggs respectively. He joins a Trojan squad that has a big-time need at the wide receiver position (and a few others) due to the youth movement that is going on there. Agholor is expected to make an immediate impact.

We will be lucky to finish with a top 5 class today. I had really high hopes today…

Yeah I just saw that. I like Rivals a lot more than ESPN they actually know what they are talking about haha

And ESPN still has us at #4. I was afraid of getting jumped by Georgia, which would have really added insult to injury. I had been reading about the perceived inability of Muschamp to close strong after last year, and this year’s signing day is starting to reinforce that notion. Fowler Jr. was the only good news for Florida on signing day. And with only 2 OL , 2 possession receivers, and 1 RB in this class, I feel like we whiffed pretty badly on our biggest need areas. We signed 8 defensive linemen and only 2 OL when the OL was clearly the weakest link on the team. If we don’t land Diggs, this class is only good and not great in my opinion no matter where they get ranked by the services, just based on lack of filling needs alone.
It’s a largely defensive class, with holes filling in on offense. The good thing though, is that out of committed players, we didn’t lose one. That is huge.

For me, this is the most shocking decision
1. He’s going all the way across the country to play.
2. He’s going to a school that is much harder to compete at wr for.
3. Barkely will be leaving after next year. Therefore meaning they’re in a worse qb situation then we will be. Basically starting over.
4. He could start at UF almost immediatly.
5. He wants to play for Lane Kiffin.

Yeah, apparently I wouldn’t have gotten him in NCAA ’12 either.
Location doesn’t matter, he doesn’t like me as a coach (yes, I’m like almost 100% defense as well) and the WR’s on my roster are all converted DB’s.
The only thing I’ve got going for me, is that my team is also in NCAA trouble.

Haha
Did you create him or something? I didn’t think the actual recruits were in that game. Also, why convert DB’s ? lol . They’re my rarest position.

That’s exactly what I did.
As for the DB’s I had to do so. I finished up my previous season and I had 16 DB’s on the roster and 2 WR’s. And of course, for some reason I couldn’t recruit a single WR (even the created Agholor) and then in the first game of the season against North Texas, one of the WR’s breaks his leg and is out for 10 weeks and the other one tears his ACL and is out for the year.
On consecutive plays of all things. Kickoff and then a running play.

What
mode are you playing on? Must be like super-experienced for recruiting.
