TOM BERGERON WRITES FOR RIVALS?

I'm mildly panicky about basketball
if Yeguete is out for more than 1 game, then Florida is essentially playing the meat of their SEC schedule with 0.7 big men. Young looks bad right now; it’ll be a miracle if he can get back to 75% before the tournament. Murphy is the worst at being anything other than a 3 point shooter. Basically, Beal is going to be Florida’s best big man going forward, and he’s a 6’3" guard.

I gave him too little credit for his charge taking ability
he’s good at that. However, that doesn’t help him rotate on pick and rolls or defend the post. Yeguete was the team’s entire interior defense.

You’re right. Also, if Yeguete (and I’m not knocking Yeguete because I think he’s a good defender) is the team’s entire interior defense, that isn’t a good thing.

When Young was healthy, he and Yeguete could share the load (and Florida was playing really well)
after Young hurt his ankle, Yeguete stepped up and took the role by himself, although it really wasn’t enough. Now, I don’t know. There isn’t a single healthy competent big defender on this team.

Yup. Which we probably figured would happen at some point in the season considering our depth.

T'was inevitable
I witnessed the Kentucky - Western Kentucky derpfest of '11 and survived to tell the tale
Just wait until what I'm writing tomorrow.
It is … an unorthodox idea.

Love the standard overreaction piece to a few kids staying home
Give me a break. DGB and Hamilton made it pretty clear from the beginning that they wanted to stay home and be close to family for various reasons. All of a sudden it’s a trend?

I agree. What’s funny to me, is that it’s happened for years in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas…etc., but as soon as it happens in Missouri or whatever, it’s big news.

Howard and Diggs were ours to lose
and we let them both out of our grasp

If it makes you feel any better
I see Diggs putting in transfer papers shortly, right after Randy Edsall tells hims to remove his ear-rings because … well, that’s what college football is all about now in Maryland. No ear-rings, no tatoos, no dread locks, and shitty football.

Either
way doesn’t 2-10 sound so much better than 2 NC titles in 6 years???

Maryland Crabcakes are freaking delicious! So leave them be!

Not if they contain mayo.
Y’all know my stance on mayo. It’s the devil.

Sure they were, and then they went elsewhere
Am I alone in not blaming a head coach for two kids who ended up deciding to play at home, with some of their best friends? It is what it is. Howard, and Diggs were certainly two guys that I wanted, and we were supposedly the favorites, but they changed their minds. End of story. How is that the coaches fault? Are Gene Chizick, and Urban Meyer also at fault for not getting Diggs?

I just question Muschamps recruiting strategy
He’s obviously an outstanding recruiter, but I wonder if his decision to do the in-homes earlier and the OVs earlier and then kind of be the “leader in the clubhouse” while letting other schools put on the late pressure hard. It just hasn’t worked out for him with these kids that don’t decide until late in the process.

This one doesn't hurt as much
There is plethora of wide receiver talent in FL this upcoming year. And it is always better to keep the kids, who are usually better, in state than go super hard for the divas out of it.
Yes Howard was in State, but Miami came out of nowhere with that kid. UF survived FSU and LSU talks but in the end was unable to sell playing further away from home was better. Some kids want to be the guys that turn their program around, most want their friends and family to be around while they are doing it though.

Maybe
We could play a guy who doesn’t usually play and he’ll explode. Give the ole Jeremy Lin strategy a test. Can Cody Larson play defense?? Cuz that’s all I’m worried about here. If we can almost win a game shooting 40% then whatever good for us. Obviously our defense is the grossly obvious weakness on this team.

That won’t work. As I’ve discovered over the years, that idea works for every team except for the Gators and the Celtics.

Shitty.
I was hoping maybe one of the small white boys sittin at the end of the bench could be the next coming of Mike Miller. Or Lee Humphrey.

Though I will say, you’re idea isn’t all that bad. I mean, why not give it a shot? Maybe catch lightning in a bottle for a bit.
