Of course Coach Boom isn't abiding by the rules of not breaking news at SEC Media Days. Muschamp used a long opening speech to break a few bits: Ronald Powell is cleared to do weight room work after tearing his ACL in the Orange and Blue Debut; Jeremy Brown fractured his wrist this summer and is currently ("as I speak") having wrist surgery; and, in the biggest news of all, A.C. Leonard and Muschamp have reached "a mutual decision" that Leonard will transfer.
Leonard was a highly touted tight end recruit in 2011, but never quite made a space for himself on the field in the fall, and then was arrested for domestic violence and suspended indefinitely because of it. Muschamp indicated after Leonard's arrest that he would need to meet certain criteria to be eligible to play for the Gators in the fall, and said at Media Days that he did not meet all of them.
Muschamp also said that he did not know where Leonard would transfer.
