Christmas could come in late July for Florida basketball fans with an interest in recruiting. Consensus national top-10 prospect Chris Walker will announce his commitment at 8 a.m. Eastern this Sunday on HomeTeamHoops.com, and the Gators remain the favorite to gain that commitment.

Florida and Kentucky have long been considered the two horses in the lead for Walker's services, but FOX Sports' Evan Daniels reported last night that Billy Donovan has seen every game Walker has played in July and that Walker does not have a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
If that latter part is true, it's hard to imagine John Calipari's Wildcats will beat out the Gators for the Bonifay, Florida forward, who has played on the same AAU squad as Gators commitment Kasey Hill for years. Donovan's hard work in getting Florida in Walker's ear early and often should pay off with his commitment in just a few minutes — and make Florida's Class of 2013 the best his Gators have ever had on paper.
