VIDEO: Ryan Lochte's Mom Talks Cuban Roots, Pride In Her Olympian Gator

It's never not cool to see a mother talk about her son, but Ryan Lochte's mom definitely almost had me choked up from the get-go here. This is a sweet little video done by NBC Miami, for the record.

Also, because people don't really think of the very "white" Lochte as Hispanic: Yes, his mom is a first-generation Cuban, making him "Cuban-American" even if he doesn't really identify as such. There's probably something fairly interesting to be written about why no one would ever think to call Lochte Hispanic or Latino (and why no one's ever written about that, actually), but, as I will be throughout these Olympics, I am a little too busy to write it like it ought to be written.

And, yes, his parents are both 'Canes. That doesn't mean we will love Ryan any less, because they had the good sense to send him to Florida, which is closer to Port Orange, anyway. I don't think I could love his mom, who gets the best moment of this video when she says Lochte gets his body from her, any less if I tried.
