Florida's 37-20 win over Tennessee on Saturday night clearly impressed more than just us: The Gators moved up to No. 14 in both the Week 4 AP Top 25 Poll. The Week 4 USA TODAY coaches poll also has Florida at No. 14.
The Gators moved up from No. 18 in the AP Poll, and sit one spot behind No. 13 USC, which tumbled after being upset by Stanford on Saturday. Florida has risen from No. 23 in the preseason AP Poll to its current spot, and has a history of using a strong September to get into the poll's upper half.
While Florida's gotten off to a red-hot start to the 2012 season, the meat of their schedule lays before the Gators: Four Florida opponents sit in the top seven of the AP Poll — No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Georgia, and No. 7 South Carolina — and all of them but Florida State will meet the Gators in October.
But the Gators will be in the state of Florida for all three of those games, welcoming the Tigers and Gamecocks to Gainesville and meeting Georgia in Jacksonville for the World's Largest Obviously Non-Alcoholic Football Game.
