Florida fans can count on national championship contenders in all sports. Which team's most likely to bring the next title home to Gainesville?
Which Florida team wins the next national title? The annual debate revs up again, and lacrosse and men's track and field are the candidates here. I think men's basketball, women's tennis, and gymnastics (despite a weird Friday loss at LSU) have damn good shots, too; the key is that women's tennis and lacrosse seem like the title favorites, while gymnastics is one of many title contenders, men's track needs to replace a couple of key parts, and the NCAA Tournament makes men's basketball a crapshoot. Joakim Noah among NCAA's 75 best NCAA Tournament players ever: Imagine, 10 years ago, telling someone that Florida was going to have one of the 75 best college basketball players ever in any category. (Matt Norlander, Eye on College Basketball | CBS Sports)
Why Bernie Machen's staying on as UF president: Let me just say that I am somewhat skeptical that Machen and Rick Scott will be able to get a public institution of higher learning where they want it to be. (Bernie Machen, Tampa Bay Times)
Marissa King, Gainesville's own: If you've ever heard Marissa talk, you know her accent is the best. (Jim Harvin, The Gainesville Sun)
How to save bowl season: I'm not sure I agree that bowl season is even worth saving, but some interesting proposals here. (Steven Godfrey, SB Nation)
How a child in a white robe created an iconic image: The story of "the KKK kid." (David Griner, Poynter)
The Matt Elam highlight mix: Gonna miss this dude.
