Is the 2013 college football season still going on? Then more Florida Gators players are getting added to the injury report.
Will Muschamp announced Wednesday that linebacker and special teams star Jeremi Powell would miss the rest of the 2013 season with an ACL tear. That means eight Gators, including five starters, have suffered season-ending injuries since the beginning of fall camp.
And with Jeremi not being the only Powell to miss time against Missouri with an injury, it's time once again to update Florida's injury situation with the help of charts.
|Andre Debose||WR||Torn ACL||August 6|
|Matt Rolin||OLB||Torn ACL||August 8|
|Chaz Green||RT||Torn labrum||~August 26|
|Nick Washington||CB||Shoulder||September 11|
|Jeff Driskel||QB||Broken fibula||September 21|
|Dominique Easley||DT||Torn ACL, meniscus||September 24|
|Matt Jones||RB||Torn meniscus||October 12|
|Jeremi Powell||LB||Torn ACL||October 19|
Florida's lost five starters (counting Debose, Florida's starting kick returner) for the fall, and lost all of them before the midpoint of its season. And it has lost its starting quarterback, running back, and defensive tackle, its best kick returner, and one of its best special teams players. These are not small losses.
Next up, a look at the players who have missed snaps due to injury.
Injuries Resulting in Missed Snaps
|Matt Jones||RB||Viral infection, torn meniscus||Full Toledo game, most of LSU game|
|Mack Brown||RB||Ankle||Part of LSU game|
|Valdez Showers||RB||Ankle||Full Tennessee game, full Kentucky game|

|Alex Anzalone||LB||Ankle||Full LSU game|
|Marcus Roberson||CB||Knee||Full Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas games|
|Loucheiz Purifoy||CB||Thigh contusion||Part of Tennessee game|
Combine this list with the above list, and at least 22 Florida players have missed snaps this fall thanks to injury — including a staggering 15 offensive and defensive starters.
Florida was without seven players who would have started on offense or defense against Missouri — Driskel, Easley, Green, Jacobs, Jones, Kitchens, and Ronald Powell — and lost starter Cody Riggs to an ejection on the first play from scrimmage of the game. In other words, Florida was without about a third of its projected fall starters in Columbia.
On the "bright" side, Jacobs and Ronald Powell are expected to be ready to play against Georgia.
