Florida football recruiting: Nolan Kelleher commits to Gators over Clemson

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

Florida's been on a run of success recruiting against a Palmetto State foe.

On Saturday, Florida got the commitment of guard Nolan Kelleher, adding a fifth offensive lineman to its 2014 recruiting class, and giving the Gators yet another win over a Clemson team that it clashes with surprisingly often on the recruiting trail.

Kelleher is, at the very least, a big body to station up front. Here's how various outlets report his measurements.

Site Height Weight
247Sports 6'6" 304 pounds
Rivals 6'6" 285 pounds
Scout 6'5" 296 pounds
ESPN 6'5" 310 pounds
The Post and Courier 6'5.5" 300 pounds

But Kelleher being touted as a guard means he'll need more than the bulk that sometimes helps tackles get by. And judging by these 13 minutes of tape, he can move — and hit.

Of the major sites, only ESPN has Kelleher has a four-star recruit, while 247Sports, Rivals, and Scout all award him three. Offensive line recruiting is notoriously hit-and-miss, however, and Kelleher will enroll early, according to The Post and Courier, giving him an extra spring to learn how to play in Tim Davis's system and go through Jeff Dillman's strength and conditioning.

Kelleher opting for Florida over Clemson is also another nice notch in the belt for the Gators, who saw Clemson stars James Davis and C.J. Spiller slip off the hook more than once in their recruiting and college days. Kelleher and Demarcus Robinson have both gone from Clemson leans (and, in Robinson's case, two public Clemson commitments) to Florida commits, and their commitments speak to the tireless effort of Will Muschamp's staff on the recruiting trail.

And Florida landing Kelleher may only be the beginning of a massive week for the Gators. But we'll get to that in a little bit.
