Recent news suggest that Offensive Linemen Jon Halapio, Trip Thurman and Max Garcia are all out for at least the beginning of fall camp. Halapio is out with a partially torn Pectoral muscle, while it doesn't seem like it will require surgery, he isn't expected to be cleared until August 9th the earliest. Thurman is waiting to be cleared from a shoulder injury that occurred during off season work outs and Garcia is out with a "back issue". Along with the linemen two of Florida's biggest Offensive weapons are expected to miss time as well Quarter back Jeff Driskel has just endured and Appendectomy, and Matt Jones the projected starter at Running Back is under constant care with a serious Viral infection. Driskel will be sidelined for at least 2 weeks and it is not yet certain when Jones will be allowed to enter camp. Coach Muschamp is on record saying that Jones is going through series of antibiotic treatments, depending on how well Jones' body reacts to the care will determine when he will be cleared for practice. Halapio is considered by many as the best O-linemen on the team, if his injury worsens it could spell danger for the efficiency of the enitre offense before the season even begins. Garcia does not intend for his injury to keep him out long, which looks like pretty good news considering he looks like a potential starter this year. Tyler Murphy is going to fill in as QB 1 for at least the next 2 weeks, it will be interesting to see if he is a capable back up for the upcoming season. While Jones is out Freshman Kelvin Taylor and Junior Mack Brown will get the reps at RB. Adam Lane is the dark horse who is also a Freshman. He is a powerful back and will be fighting to make an impact his first year as a Gator. Taylor's reputation is one I'm sure the entire Gator faitful is familiar with, but Lane was a little under the radar during the recruitment process and may be a surprise by the start of the season.
This is his highlight tape if you haven't seen it yet.
