As the news about Dominique Easley's knee injury, rumored to be a torn ACL, continues to fall like so much rain, the defensive tackle sent out a message from his Twitter account that sure sounds like a goodbye from an injured player:
Easley would likely know a little better than Will Muschamp, who told reporters that Easley "tweaked his knee" and would require further evaluation, about the status of his own knee. But while he sounds like he's saying goodbye, it should be noted that the tweet immediately before this one was Easley, not exactly the most reliable narrator of his own life, clarifying statements made to reporters on Tuesday:
If Easley has, in fact, suffered a season-ending injury, it is likely that he has also played his last snap for the Florida Gators.
Easley flirted with entering the 2013 NFL Draft before deciding to return and get his degree, as his mother wanted, and would be likely be eligible for a medical redshirt if he wanted to stay at Florida and pursue one, but his NFL Draft stock had been soaring thanks to stellar play through three games this season, and Easley became a father late last year, so he may have providing for his family as a priority this year in a way it wasn't last year.
