The Minnesota Timberwolves have been searching for a new head coach for quite some time now. Now that Tom Izzo, Fred Hoiberg, Rick Adelman, and Stan Van Gundy retiring, a new name has emerged. Marc Stein of ESPN stated that Florida Gators head coach Billy Donavon is the new candidate to take over the head coaching job for the Wolves.
It seems like just yesterday, Billy D was hired by the Orlando Magic but returned to Florida only days later. The parting agreement included a no-compete clause stating Donovan could not coach in the NBA for at least 5 more years. In order to post this FanPost, I need more words in my word count, so I'm going to babble on for a little while. If Coach Donovan did leave Florida, who would be likely candidates to take over for the Gators?
