2015 Overview- Quarterbacks

Finally we take a look at a position that can only be described as a hot pile of you know what since Jesu,.... uhhhh I mean Tim Tebow left. The gators have been plagued with injuries at the position, 4 major ones in five years by my count. McElwain and Nussmeier have had a lot of success at the position though, so things are looking brighter.

Quarterbacks-

1. Will Grier 6'2 200lbs. RFR- The recipient of numerous national accolades coming out of high school, Will Grier is a pro-style quarterback that also can make some plays with his legs. He redshirted his freshman season, but many people think he is a perfect fit for the new offense.

2. Jacob Guy 6'5 209lbs. RJR- A walk-on but I felt he was worth mentioning, as Florida has a history of new coaches pulling unknowns off the depth chart. Guy was ranked a three star prospect by ESPN out of high school but chose to walk on at Florida rather than go to a smaller school on a scholarship. He has been an important contributor on the scout team during his career.

3. Treon Harris 5'11 190lbs. SO- A four star quarterback out of high school, Treon eventually replaced Jeff Driskel and started the last six games of the season, where he had a 4-2 record. His performance was up and down however, as he only threw for a little over 1000 yards, and completed less than 50% of his passes. Even though he ended last season as the starter his spot is far from guaranteed this year.

4. Skyler Mornhinweg 6'3 212lbs. RJR- A three star quarterback out of high school, Skyler was thrust into the starting position for the last three games of 2013. All three were losses at the end of Florida's most abysmal season in decades. Since then he hasn't gotten a lot of looks. Maybe a new offensive coordinator will help him.

With no freshman quarterbacks, McElwain has three (four if you count Guy) quarterbacks to choose from. Mornhinweg and Harris have experience but that also has shown that as of right now they weren't all that good. Grier has no experience, but because of that there are no bad memories. This race is far too close to make an actual prediction. Grier and Harris are the favorites, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the other two come in and impress the coaches. If I had to guess I think that Grier has the most talent and is the better fit for McElwain's offense and therefore will end up the starter.
