The Florida Gators are appearing in their third NIT semifinals (1986, 1992), as they take on the Massachusetts Minutemen this evening in the first of two games at historic Madison Square Garden.

JaJuan Smith poured in 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, as the fourth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers overcame a 16-point deficit and clung to an 89-86 victory over the Florida Gators, clinching their first outright SEC regular-season crown since the 1966-67 campaign, while also setting a program record for wins in a season.

Vols visit Gators seeking outright SEC East title

Having already clinched at least a share of the SEC East Division crown, the fourth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers head to Gainesville this evening, where they will attempt to clinch the outright division title and at least a share of the overall SEC crown, as they take on the Florida Gators at the O'Connell Center.
