In our countdown of players and coaches who will defend the Gators' National Championship, we now come to tight end Cornelius Ingram.
CI is a freak of nature. He's one of the two people who I have seen and actually gasped at because he was so jacked (the other is Simeon Rice). CI is a matchup problem for DBs because he's too strong and tall. And LBs can't cover him because he's too fast. Also remember, he was a QB at Hawthorne High School and was recruited for that and basketball. He's never been a receiver so all of this is new to him.
What makes him endearing is that he almost left school because he wasn't going to play basketball and he wasn't getting playing time behind Leak. Several players, Meyer, and Charlie Strong convinced him to stick around. Now, CI has jumped in head first and is another weapon in the Gators arsenal. He's a faster Ben Troupe. Hopefully, he can now catch like the former TE did.
