Top 2 Remain Same in BCS

Following a close loss to Ohio State, the Michigan Wolverines continued to hold the #2 BCS spot this weekend, firing up a lot of discussion on whether or not a rematch was on the horizon for the national title.

With this in mind, Urban Meyer discussed his feelings on the possible national championship matchup:

"If that does happen, all the [university] presidents need to get together immediately and put together a playoff system," he said. "I mean like now, January or whenever to get that done."

Now, I'm as big a Gators fan as they come, but as of right now there is not one possible explanation as to why the Gators (or anyone for that matter) deserves to go to the NC game over Michigan more than anyone else (does that make sense?).  There are several one loss teams, all having a ridiculous amount to do wtih each other which makes the championship game possibilities even more befuddling.

For instance, if Arkansas beats LSU and UF, they will have one loss:  A home loss to USC in which the Trojans hung 50 points on them.  Michigan dominated Notre Dame in South Bend for the Irish's only loss.  The Gators beat themselves in Auburn, but haven't had one decisive win really.  USC laid an egg at Oregon State.

In the end Michigan seems to have the "best" loss, coming on the road at #1 Ohio State. HOWEVER, I can see the argument against having them play again to decide the National Title, and I can't really make a counterpoint to it.

The moral of this story:  My head is about to explode due to all of the possibilities.
