A Look at the Scores From Today

Today Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gameocks battled the Clemson Tigers in the annual "Battle of the Palmetto State."  The Gamecocks came out on top 31-28 in what turned out to be a game of big plays and turnovers in front of the Death Valley crowd.  This was a very big win for the SEC Gamecocks against one of the better teams in the ACC in #24 Clemson...especially on the road.

Freshman RB CJ Spiller, who decided late to attend Clemson over Florida, had a monstrous game on the ground, ripping through the Gamecocks defense and leaving defenders in a cloud of dust in the open field.  This kid is really, really good.

Spurrier is now 1-1 against the Gamecocks, a team that could become his new Florida State-type rival.

The UGA Bulldogs beat the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets 15-12 today.  What else is new?  The Yellowjacket seniors will leave Tech having never beat the Bulldogs, something that has to sit very badly with them.  Today Georgia made their win streak over their hated in-state rival 6.

This was a very close, defensive dominated game.  It took some late drives for both teams to punch the ball into the endzone, concluding with a late Matthew Stafford TD pass and 2 point conversion that gave the Dogs the 3 point lead.

The West Virginia Mountaineers slipped up today, losing at home to the South Florida Bulls 24-19.  The Bulls somehow did what many could not do this season, holding Steve Slaton to 43 yards and Pat White to 17.  Very impressive win for USF, a program that also knocked off Louisville last season at the height of their season.

Boise State is still undefeated, as they beat a pretty solid Nevada team today by 31 points.  With a 12-0 record and some pretty easy wins for the Broncos this season, it'll be tough to argue against them getting an at-large BCS bid.  Yes, they don't play the same type of schedules as some of the more notable names, but what else can they do but win?
